Telegram on fdroid is the best for bb10 without Google play service
In fdroid telegram use openstreet map for localization

Telegram X is actually superior than Telegram on BB10.

F-Droid is perfectly safe and the apk link is near the bottom of the page kind of hidden. You may also want to actually use the F-Droid store app itself as there are other Google-free android apps in there that may be of interest. Highly recommended by me fwiw.

Hi conite, can you please elaborate in a few sentences this statement?

I am wondering, because this new telegram 5.2.1 on my Q5 started to function very strangely.

Just like this telegram version is too much demanding for Q5 with 10.3.2.2836. ๐Ÿ˜’ I had today very big problem with my Q5, because suddenly, during listening music with Deezer app, it freezes and more than a two hours it was unresponsive screen. Or some other android app made this problem, but with old deezer app I have never had such problem, and that's why I am suspecting on new telegram.

    My apps on Q5 ๐Ÿ˜‰

Do you know if real time localisation work without Google play service. Because I use telegram from fdroid because localisation use openstreetmap. It's nice for bb10 phone

We were talking about the real time location sharing feature not about other features. Openstreetmap is used on the non-google play version of Telegram from F-Droid.

This is interesting to me. In my modified version of Telegram and Plus, linked above, the one issue I kept running into was Shared Locations never working. Maybe if I modify the F-Droid version it will be fixed. This is an interesting lead, for sure...

+1 for these BBM-mapped versions! Each one (TeleBBM and PlusBBM) is the latest stock version except that they use the BBM emoticons/icons (some are emoji, most are emoticons) instead of Android emoji.

I'm running the latest (as of today!) PlusBBM on my Classic and it works flawlessly.

I also have an older Telegram and I used to run Telegram X, just to see which ran best on a BB10 device. Telegram X and Plus each run better than the stock Telegram. I only removed Telegram X in order to install PlusBBM a couple of months ago. (Not to mention it was ridiculous running 3 Telegram apps concurrently on the same device, haha)

Here's my own project, which replaces Android emojis with BBM emoticons.
