This is happening to be as well. Consistently. Tried compatibility mode set to win7, still getting BSOD. I'll probably just have to get rid of Link, as I need to code and debug with my win8 machine.

Do not use USB 3 (blue), use USB 2!

Me to, but when Iook in to my Internet connections ( when you go with the mouse in the left corner) I see two of them, that is when my Z10 is connected, only then I have the blue screen ( watchdog violation) so it has to be something with that connection

Have this same issue. It actually never used to do it for me at first... but recently I get the BSOD if my Z10 is connected to the computer for a bit. It always has me worried, because the last thing I want is it crashing in the middle of installing a leak or sideloading an app

    Yep same problem here.
Sifted through the "Noise" on this thread and so far two possible solutions have been presented:
1/ Turn off the Wifi when connecting to "LINK" with USB
2/ Do Not use USB 3 to connect (For those that even have that option.

So basically "Link" is poorly tested rubbish. Shame it's the only way to backup the device.

I use link with 3 Z10 devices and W8.1 preview (64bit), but my desktop is rock solid. Never any crashes. I'm sure it must be an issue with usb3 because I don't have any!

It must be USB3 that's causing the problem, NOT BLACKBERRY LINK!
My computer will BSOD even if I am NOT connected to Link. I don't need to connect to it when sideloading or using an autoloader for a leaked OS. I haven't used Link in ages. So it's gotta be the connection via USB3 or some sort of driver problem in Windows 8

The problem is due to things being junk:
    1) people who have SSD's with outdated firmware for Win8 need to update their drives. If your SSD doesn't find an upgrade, go to #2.
    2) people with Win8 need to update to Win8.1. It solves the watchdog violation which causes the BSOD junk.

    1) I don't have an SSD, just a HD
    2) I have Windows 8.1

and it still freezes and crashes my computer. Please keep the suggestions rolling.
