As the title says, every time I Skype it drastically drains the battery. Two occasions including tonight I've had my Z10 plugged in the outlet and the battery still drained until it turned off like the phone was not even connected to a power source. This is crazy and I know I ain't the only person experiencing this issue.
When I Skype on my Acer Tablet and it's plugged in the tablet stays charged the whole time it never drains out completely. Actually all the android apps on my Z10 drains the battery but Skype just takes it another level.
The Z10 battery is just not built for most Android apps! Gonna have to save for a Z30 get a cheap Android phone with a great battery and good front facing camera just for Skype

It is a serious battery killer, but BBM video isn't much better. Consider what's going on when you use Skype.

True, I've had Skype on my phone and I just drain my battery quickly. If you want to stop its process, download Taskmanager from BlackBerry World.

I am using iOS FaceTime now ak si Hardy use Skype now because of that

Viber out is also a good replacement for landline call

When bbm voice is out .. Skype will be out

BBM video don't drain a plugged in battery though or I just didn't notice, I've only used it a few times. Only have two BBM video contacts but have a lot Skype contacts not convinced about upgrading to BlackBerry 10 yet....Still using Bold. So Skype is all we have

BBM video isn't quite as bad, but it uses a lot of battery. I use both, but I plug in via my PB charger first

yeah Skype also made my z10 hot and battery drain is like we are playing something like asphalt 7 heat
