Is there any chance that Shazam will come to BBW? I'm often at partys with friends and trying to recognize certain music, and i've noticed that soundhoud doesnt recognize music the same as Shazam. Most of my friends have Shazam and it works flawless. I miss the old Shazam, never knew why they removed it on OS 10.

By the way the latest update of soundhoud isnt that wow

You could write to the developer of Shazam and inquire. then you'd know for sure! As I don't think anyone really knows what developers are doing related to BB apps.

Shazam (the android app) works perfectly on 10.2.1.1055.

And of course, with 10.2.1, you can download it directly from Google Play. No need to sideload.

I often wrote my questions to appdevelopers but with no reply, thats the reason i joined CB. The appdevelopers just dont give a sh** about singleperson questions. They need to hear it from a bigcommunity"s like CB.

I'm not a real fan of leaks, i'm staying official. Shazam was a native app on the previous OS7, i just want to know why they removed it.

You could also try Sound Cloud: it does the same sort of thing, but will also work with singing a song yourself, and give you the lyrics in close to real time with the song.

If it can recognize any "tune" I "sing" it would be a miracle worker!

Soundcloud is nice when your in the gym or on a party and want to impress some Girls with selfmade tunes or a mixtape. But to recognize songs Shazam does the work, simple as that! All the other devices are using it, so Why does BlackBerry has to stay behind (again)

I used to use Shazam but since I have got Soundhound, I don't need Shazam anymore even though I am able to download it directly to my Z10 with the 10.2.1.1055 OS. Soundhound can recognize more songs than Shazam including those songs you hum to the app. Shazam cannot recognize humming. I do not know why you said Shazam is better.

Get 10.2.1 and download the apk straight from the Internet or from android stores. It works just as good or better(most of the time better surprisingly) as my friends HTC One/SG4 and my Nexus 7"

If you still want to stick to official there is BAR files you can download in good e reader then download playbook app manager google chrome extension to put it on your phone.

Step 1: download the app from "Good E Reader"
Step 2: download the PlayBook App Manager chrome extention
Step 3: type "developer" on your phone turn developer mode on
Step 4: plug in your phone
Step 5: Open up PlayBook App Manager
Step 6: Go to your downloads folder for Shazam Bar
Step 7: drap and drop the app onto PlayBook App Manager

    Estimated Time: 2-10min :P

Let me know if you have any questions

Humming is for people with amnesia, i dont want to hum or roar any song (wtf?!). In my experience Shazam was and is better (maybe because i listen to new songs from different dj's) any app can recognize a old song from the 80's or 90's and sounhound doesnt do the job for me if it comes to new songs. I say this because i see my friends using shazam and 9 of 10 it hits the song, where soundhound keeps me guessing for sh**! But to all fairness i respect everyone's opinion about experience. But i guess the name says it all...Sound...Hound...like a doggggg!

The answer to your question is that Shazam didn't "remove" anything. BBOS apps are not compatible with BB10. Shazam would either have to port their Android app or develop a native one for BB10. So far they have chosen to do neither.
