This blows. My company just moved to all Sales force, Chatter and all.
Our whole executive team has moved to z10s and ditches their iPhones. We need a SF app or come up with an html5 mobile experience already.
Ridiculous!

Get EVERY SINGLE salesforce.com user in your company to vote for the app in Idea exchange. That's currently the last way we can make salesforce.com product management to hear and understand.
I wish Kevin or some else from the CrackBerry Team would pick this up ... what a shame that the best "Business Device" doesn't have salesforce.com!

As I stated in an earlier post, BlackBerry is a major user of SF. This alone should warrant a native app for them.
Posted from my Z10
I have tweeted SalesForce, sent Facebook messages, contacted my sales rep and promoted the Idea plus left a message on it, not sure what else I could do. I also asked our users to promote the idea but for some this was over their head (not the most technical people our sales guys) :rotfl:...
Anyway, if the touch thing is the solution cool, but it currently only works on iphones I believe... :(
Some corporation that's big into BlackBerry and looking to buy sfdc (i.e in the middle of a sales cycle with them) needs to tell them that the lack of BlackBerry support is a deal breaker. Nothing pushes an enhancement request up the queue faster than a potential lost sale.

We have climbed our way past 90 votes, that few of votes doesn't really make it look like it is a priority from the salesforce community.

Unfortunately you're right... i was hoping for someone from CrackBerry to pick this up and blog about it. Afterall they should have every interest in promoting the only true business smartphone!

I have some good news, I tweeted them and they replied with an email address I should contact in BBRY to get a beta of an open source, so I did and got a fast response with a bar file...
The app is meant to be a way to get into SalesForce Touch wich is their new mobile approach, it is really like a web (cloud) application but on iPhone and iPad feels like an app which should be good enough. The problem is, on my Z10 it just opens the regular SF page, it does save the user and password but I do not get the SF Touch. I emailed the guy back and he told me that same thing happened to another person and they are investigating why I do get redirected to the regular page instead of getting SF Touch, it may be because I am using one of the latest leaks and somehow the browser is not identifying itself properly or something? No clue.
Anyway, the good news is they are working so I think they should have something for the public soon...
I do not know if it is ok to publish his email or the bar file so I won't, but if you just tweet SalesForce asking for a BB10 app you should get the same response as me...

Interesting... which account did you use? @salesforce or @asksalesforce? Perhaps you can share your twitter communication?
Posted on Q10
@salesforce, not sure how to share a tweet as I don't use it much, lately I have been tweeting a bunch of companies about getting a BB10 app (TD, RBC, Shazam, Kobo, PayPal, TeamViewer, etc.)
I'm sure if you search in tweeter for "salesforce blackberry" or something similar it should find it...

Great stuff! What is your twitter handle?
All BB10 user should let the developers know they want to see their Apps. If the entire community would make more noise we would get our apps much faster and that again would strengthen the platform and bring more users to BlackBerry. In my opinion Kevin and the rest of the CrackBerry Team should motivate way more for every single user to reach out to the devs using email and social media!

Exactly my opinion! How will they know there's a market for it if people don't ask?

I had shared the email earlier in the thread. Fire a note here; super nice guy.

I picked up the bar, and it's basically a launcher for Touch. Still requires that Touch be enabled in the org... and we're still waiting for sfdc to allow devices other than iPhone and iPad hit the Touch experience via mobile web. It seems salesforce has some device detection that's preventing hitting Touch, even with the fancy launcher.
The good news I guess is that it's in the works, and I gather BlackBerry have 1-2k people testing it, so it's potentially possible to have touch enabled for BB10 in your org to test.

He is a nice guy indeed, the thing is, how is it that they are distributing that bar file if no one can enable Touch for BlackBerry? the touch settings on SF only allows iPad and iPhone, maybe they can do it behind scenes? another question would be, how come Tim does not know it needs to be enabled in the organization and how to enable it? he sent me the file with all the instructions and everything but no mention of that so I think he was expecting for it to work right away...
If it is a simple browser launcher, has anyone tried putting their browser in desktop mode?
That can be done under browser settings in the developer tool section. That's what I would do.
Posted via CB10
Yes I did try that, I do believe that is just a matter of enabling it on your organization but the option for BlackBerry is not there because it is still on beta.
I opened a ticket requesting them to enable it, let's see what they answer...

Great initiative fellow BBers

mmm, so SalesForce support didn't know what I was talking about, they told me that indeed there is something in the works but there are no options or features that need or can be enabled by them, they asked me to follow up with BlackBerry to figure out what is different for the people that does work... I guess I'll wait for a Follow up from Tim...
For anyone with the bar from BlackBerry, just to confirm, upon launch are you getting the "URL no longer exists" landing page?

Truly admire your passion on this one, where do I go to vote exactly?

And for good measure, here's the Chatter for bb10 idea that also needs vote love. Maybe if both climb we'll get more consideration for the next release.

Mmm, yes, seems like they changed something, not completely sure but I think I was going to my regular landing page before...
Posted via CB10
I just voted for the chatter one as well, hadn't seen it before.
