For those who are familiar, Rain Alarm is now available in BlackBerry World.

Nifty little app which alerts you to rain around your area, distance from you and the intensity. Also has great rain radar maps.

Not all countries are supported so check the description.

Best of all, it's free! Pro version may be made available depending on how many downloads there are of the free version.

What's the potential use case for this? In at a picnic and an alarm goes off if it rains nearby? Is this any different that checking the weather app?

Let's you know where the rain is, how far away, intensity, coverage area and the approximate time it will be at your location.

I find the radar on it one of the best and most accurate (at least available here in Australia).

I guess in and around the US, BlackBerry World has many good apps for weather. Nor really the case here. While the weather apps work, the radars do not.
