Hi Team BlackBerry!

I have a question for you all. When an android app is minimised on a BlackBerry 10 device (ie: no longer the active window), can it still continue to run and perform tasks?

Why do I ask?

With an android app, you can increase the brightness of the Z30 beyond the default system limits. This is actually VERY appealing to me, as it was one of my early gripes with the device. There's simply some occasions (including when I show off the device to potential customers) where I wish the screen had a little more brightness. Now it's clear that this is a software limitation - as an android brightness app can indeed increase system brightness beyond the "max" level of the BB10 OS.

The problem is, that as soon as the app is minimised, the screen fades back to a dimmer setting.

I would love to know if the app can continue to apply the brightness setting on an ongoing basis - even when minimized.

Any guidance here?

I don't know if any of them can or do continue to control brightness when they are reduced to a frame. But I do know some Android apps actually continue to run even when you think that you've closed them. And some of them can use battery power that some people don't want occurring. Task Manager in BBWorld can show what apps are running and allow you to kill them off. For instance, TasK manager just found Aha Radio running as well as some android "calendar" module. I just killed them.
