I've side loaded it on to my Z10 and Z30, but now the hype has gone, like every app, I'm bored of it. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know. Anyone else feel this way?

Great. It's official, instagram is boring because you guys said so. Everyone should get off it and use BBM Channels.
P.s, if you find a social network boring, it probably says a lot about your social life

I tend to think this way about a lot if apps. Remember when everyone was talking about angry birds? No one talks about it now. In fact I've never even open it. I'm sure the downloads are still good but the hype is gone.

It's boring if you follow no one. Like most social apps, it's a tool for you to get in the know of your friends, public figures, etc but in a visual kind of way.

So, yes it's boring if you're not into social networking.

Well, sorry popular person! I follow a fair few people on it. They only ever upload selfies. Nothing like Flickr! That is a much better photography site.

Sorry for voicing my opinion on a forum, I shall not have an opinion anymore!

First of all, why did you expect instagram to be... exciting? it's an app, it serves a function, that function is to communicate with groups of friends. Do you have a lot of friends that use it?

Yeah. It probably means that you actually have a real social life.
I personally prefer real human interaction. Actual face-to-face discussion.

But to those that can't live without Instagram... More power to you.
    I can't hate on that.

Maybe you're not exploring it enough. Plenty of interesting accounts to follow, spanning limitless interests you may have (tech, photography, comedy, satire, fashion, etc). It helps when you have friends that use the app as well. No point in having a social account of any kind if you don't have friends that use it or don't have the desire to be "sociable" on it.

My social life started before the Internet ever did, if I wanted to see what my friends food looked like I would see it over dinner. (not via an app) Social networking has its purposes, but nothing beats face to face interaction.

Social Media has to be the most over-rated phenomenon of the 21st Century. Someone once boasted to me that there Son had over 1000 friends on social media, and chatted to them every night, my response? "Yeah but they're still sat in their bedroom on their own every night". I remember when people went out to socialise, but then that's difficult when you live in the US and have a diet of pizzas, burgers and soda's and the only way your getting out of your bed is if there's a crane to lift you. In the UK there's a program about fat American teens - it is No.1 in the comedy charts - a real 'big' hit .

I've never actually seen any food pictures on instagram. My TL personally, I follow my friends and some people who post interesting pictures.
Seriously though, quit with the have a real social life thing. Most people my age use insta as an extension of their social life, you're only dissing it because BB10 doesn't have it. If it did you'd call it the greatest thing since sliced bread

Instagram is one of the last apps I would like to see on BB10 - I understand what you are saying. But when an 'app' yes that's right an 'app' - just lines of code become that important to people I find it amazing.

I'm not someone who follows random people, I want to follow friends. I don't like having hundreds of people on there who I don't know. I expected it to be exciting because everyone on CB and everyone who mocks BlackBerry uses 'Have you got Instagram' as an argument. I assumed it would be good.

This "face to face interaction" comment and "have a real social life thing" is played out now. How am I going to get a face to face with someone living in Moscow when I live in Jamaica? I use social media as an extension of my social life. I'm a watch collector and I use IG daily to see what my fellow collectors are up to. I'm a video editor and I use twitter to interact with my fellow editors. Social Media is not the problem, managing it is. If you follow people that post selfies and food pics then of course it's going to be "boring". Try finding people in areas that you like. Eg my IG feed is 90% about watches, I follow a few close friends and a few fashion blogs. My twitter feed is 95% editors/colorists/vfx/post production people and a few close friends. To keep it interesting don't check it every hour on the hour. Schedule it, for me I check once in the morning if I have some free time and once in the evening as well. IMO this works for me and might not work for you but it's a suggestion and if you try it and find it boring then you can do as you did before.

No. I've been using it for 5 months+. I do photography and I'm really in to it, so I thought all my photography friends would use it, no. They use Flickr, as mentioned on a previous post. I followed about 150 people (at one point) on Instagram and the people who post are posting dull selfies. Just unfollowed them.

Anyway. I don't want to be arguing on this forum, I was seeing if it was just me who is bored of it!

    Wrong.
Unless, you're a trans-humanist with the belief we all should be physically merged with technology like the collective Borg.

Since I was the one who first mentioned this....
Many noted scholars would disagree with this statement.
As long as there are humans, we need physical close proximity and interaction.
I won't do your homework for you, but try a Google search for... "social interaction is a necessity?"
Come and report back with your findings.

Heck, it has even been found that without it, humans become anti-social, and even become mentally unstable.
Even prisoners sentenced to isolation is considered in many ways cruel and unusual punishment for the same reasons.
That could be the reason for some of the comments here, IMO. LoL.

However, I continue to say that...
But to those that can't live without Instagram... More power to you.

I don't think people are disputing the fact that face to face social interaction is a necessity for a healthy lifestyle. That's a given. However, you ignored the fact that he said social media is an EXTENSION to his social life. That's perfectly normal in this day in age, and not some symptom of an underlying social or behavioral disorder. It's a bit played out in the sense that everyone keeps throwing that out there wrongly assuming people with a Facebook account (for example) are not social. Newsflash: most people with Facebook accounts have friends that they know in real life....yes, they probably made most of their friends before Facebook was around...shocking.
