Path and Instagram Beta is now available on Windows Phone 8 store. When will BlackBerry have those two apps on app world? BlackBerry claims that windows phone is not that popular so BlackBerry decide not to put bbm on windows phone store. But microsoft has convince path and instagram developer to build their app to windows phone market while BlackBerry can't.

Want to know how Microsoft convinces developers? Money. Don't forget BlackBerry isn't a juggernaut like Microsoft...

I think it was a terrible idea not to include WP in cross platform bbm!

I don't know if it was money that convince those devs to make their application on WP Market. But BlackBerry should be more persuasive to big devs to put their applications on BlackBerry app world though. OS 10.2.1 won't be getting native google services as for the latest leak shows it. And commonly BlackBerry 10 users don't want to bother to sideload or download APK to their device.

Yes, I agree with that. because windows phone users are larger than BlackBerry 10 users. So bbm should be in their platform. Ubuntu, tizen, and firefox may be left out but not windows phone.

Windows is a more mature platform.

On a different note, Instagram stated that it won't jump into a new OS and they will wait until it matures. Forget where I read it but it was an official press release article back in May.

If it's built by Microsoft themselves. Then by does it say the developer on the WP app store is by Instagram??

BlackBerry will have to support users with most use apps natively from app wolrd. Or the fight to get back to mobile market will be hard to be done.

The apps came because of market share. Microsoft/Nokia are coming in hard and it is mostly because they went where they could grab the most people, the emerging market. The 520 is their best selling WP and it is because it is a cheap phone, that has potential. It helped increase their market share by a lot and they are now seeing the fruit of it. The strategy was right.
John Chen recognized this and that is what he wants to accomplish with the Jakarta. Pick up loads of market share and get the popular apps afterwards.
The Q5 could have been BlackBerry's 520, but deep down, it really wasn't a phone for the emerging markets.
