    I'm also thinking about trying a word of mouth promotion strategy where for a couple of days I would give a free copy of Noted (by sending $1 via PayPal, since BlackBerry still doesn't have coupon codes) to the first 5 individuals who PM me and say that they would be willing to suggest my app to a friend(s) via BBM.

    Any thoughts on whether this would be a good idea or not?

    It would be a good idea. How would you know that they actually did share via BBM? A screen shot perhaps? Or share the message with you?

    And I thought with the new BBW, there is a redeem coupon option..

    Oh, I would just take them at their word. :-)

    I see the redeem coupon option, but as far as I'm aware, there's no way for a developerto actually create a coupon code.
