    Hi all

I am desperately searching for a native jabber client for my Q10.
Am I right that there is not a single one at the moment?

    Thanks,
    Das Einhorn.

have you tried beem? I dont use jabber on my phone so never thought about it. I think IM+ supports it as well.

I've already found the IM+ application but it is just an android port that is not even slightly modified. The other application you've mentioned is new to me. I even haven't found it in the app world tough.

Beem is a buggy android port, without hub integration... If someone can find a good native xmpp/jabber (text, audio) client it would be great !

Redicilous...Still not deep XMPP or SIP integration in the hub?
Why do all people think we would just like to use the big commercial providers...

    - I'm not on Twitter
    - I'm not on Facebook
    - I just need an generic XMPP/SIP account support like IMAP, POP3, CardDav, CalDav..

... is this so hard BBRY?

Surfacing this thread. If anyone finds (or develops) a native Jabber client I will be thrilled and ready to purchase it.

not to revive this post again but Dan, which Jabber version and build/release are you sideloading succesfully?
Are you able to do anything beyond basic IM?

    • Any SIP functionality,
    • GAL contact lookup,
    • connect to your IP PBX/Call Manager,
    • utilize internal dial plans,
    • conference calls,
    • call transfers,
    • hold,
    • set DND,
    • trigger webex sessions,
    • join webex sessions,
    • click-to-dial in other apps,
    • retrieve voicemails,
    • sync and update your own presence based on your enterprise calendar on the device,
    • get current presence status other users,
    • update your profile,
    • view profiles,
    • edit contact list,
    • view call history,
    • share or view shared desktops,
    • group chats,
    • initiate or join p2p video calls?

I just signed up for the Cisco EAP, to get the Android beta of Cisco's Jabber 9.6 release (Jabber9.6-EAP-156705.apk).

Cisco says that they will not release a BB10 version of Jabber as BBRY told them that the Blackberry Enterprise IM client will support XMPP. This was back in the beginning of 2013, when a Cisco engineer made that comment. I however could not find anything further on that claim, nor any mention of Enterprise IM beta that may include XMPP support.

Thank you, I appreciate your time.

I've just got the passport. I know this is kinda late, but please notify me on any news. If there's nothing i will have to put myself to work and try to make one, which will be hard because i am still kind of a beginner in programming. Did it as a hobby for about 8 years now, started as a kid but my focus was mostly on writing web apps for now. But if there's no better option i will try to do it! wish me luck..

I haven't been able to get Hg10 to connect to my office XMPP client. I did get a sideloaded Android app Xabber to work. Although I can't seem to join chat rooms, just able to message individuals.

If anyone has any clues on how to make Hg10 work, I'd be glad to hear it.

    Hi,

    Are you behind a BES?
Lately I added proxy detection in case there is one.

I am usually testing with jabber.de, but if there is something I missed, I will try to fix it

I've been running Xabber on a private XMPP. (I put Prosody on my server. No s2s, just c2s.) It works fine for basic chats. What I can't figure out is how to make it send a notification sound.

I leave my notifications on "phone only", which my be part of the problem.

If Chen would loosen up some resources, they could just add XMPP to BBM.

I found the "ignore system vibration settings" box. That makes it vibrate when a message comes in. Better than nothing I suppose.

Another FYI. ChatSecure runs via ART. Notifications don't make a sound or vibrate. The hub does see new activity in the app.
