Any search engines that aren't android apps or ports?

The one I use and is FANSTASTIC and AMAZING is Search for Google. Yes, it's Google search but it's the only one I found and it's amazing. The dev is awesome as well too.

The app is native, extremely fast and so on and so on.

Must download. And if you can, donate the guy a cup of coffee. And check out Search for Places as well. Very good too!

The best way is to set up your own customized search engine and add it in the native browser (or just pick up one). Visti mycroftproject.com

So then you can type any keywords on home screen (via Search or Assistant) , then click the extended search icon of the engine you want.

I strongly recommend that to side load Search to replace Assistant on OS 10.3.X, coz it's more efficient and can got the action of search engine name as pre-select option.
