also "Update In" is a good app to connect with. Foursquare I find doesn't always have the right information like address, number and etc.
It's like foursquare but I think it's more universal, native to blackberry and is more accurate.

Hello!
We are glad to announce that OnLocation got Built For BlackBerry designation.
Get it here and enjoy most powerful geomonitoring app for your BlackBerry 10 device
I'm a little irritated with app world right now. I've been trying to purchase OnLocation since 7:30 this morning. It keeps giving me an error, saying my transaction cannot be completed at this time.
I'm on Rogers in Ontario, and trying to purchase through my carrier billing. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Make sure you have "data services on"

For German speaking folks, I came across nice vide about OnLocation (older version):
Thanks a lot to mrcrabstechreviews
Question about how the Time/Day function works. I would rather err on the side of LESS Sound. So, if I were to enter the defined PERIMETER prior to say the set-time of 5pm and remain there, will OnLocation change to Vibrate (my setting) when it hits 5pm or do I have to enter the perimeter between 5-11pm (my end time)
Oh, a small suggestion, Wednesday is usually abbreviated Wed (not Wen).
GREAT APP.
Thanks, for Wed suggestion, will fix.
As per date/time, date/time is checked at the moment when location is entered/exited (more precisely, when geo monotoring triggered). All triggers outside of time range are ignored. Hope it helps.
Heads Up: next upgrade of OnLocation comes with Foursquare integration:
Awesome!

Simple question: I arrive on a pre-defined location and need to have the Z10 vibrated and alarm me with a sound. How can I do this?
You can set it to send a text to yourself.

In addition to UI improvements, new update of OnLocation adds support for Foursquare. You can attach Fouresquare venue for any of your locations. You will be automatically check in and either public or private notification as well as option publishing into Facebook and/or Twitter.
Get it here
But the most basic thing, an alarm sound when the geofence has been passed, is not implemented yet. So it is merely a beta version of a geofencing app. A purely proof of concept. Astonishing. :rotfl:
Haha, love that you went with the leaked 10.3 red accents. Looks quite nice!
Just add custom led on this app.
That's needed since I like to manage my customers led by Geofencing too

Or at least partner up with another app and make it happen. Lol

Any other development on his app?
Still one of my favorites.

Hi, yes we recently updated OnLocation to 1.5.2.1.
It has been tuned it to support Passport and 10.3.
We also resolved some issue that impacted OnLocation when number of monitored was enabled for large number of locations
I seem to have had to re-add locations as the original "location/address" were not changing profiles. Still checking on some locations currently. But still like the app.
Anything new coming to this app?

Signed up only to reply to this thread... Been using OnLocation on 10.2.1 for about 3 months with mixed results and when I asked the developer he said "let's wait for 10.3.1, maybe it will fix all issues". Now after installing 10.3.1 the app still misbehaves (admittedly after restoring app data from 10.2.1 backup), so I contacted the developer again and he kind of dropped the ball saying "we should probably withdraw the app from AppWorld" and that it works OK for him most of the time. I installed GeoToolBox and gave it a quick try and the OS geo-monitoring services seem to work properly, so I will give OnLocation another try as I like it's features better (will delete and re-add locations)
On a related note... anyone knows if Cellular Data is required for geo-monitoring to work properly? I am led to believe so, as when I turn it off it seems like location services aren't as accurate and prompt
I hope he does not withdraw it since I find it generally works but not all the time. But, I, too, like it better than some other similar apps. And, yes, when I upgraded to 10.3.1, and restored, Locations were restored but it did not seem to work. So, I'm re-adding locations.
If withdrawn, it might be hard to reaquire if I lose it in some other upgrade.
Have you done any more testing with the app? I find after clean reload of the latest OS (10.3.1.2582) it no longer works AT ALL. Very disappointed the developer abandoned it, it had great features and could have been improved further
I've the same OS and it appears to be working on my Z30. But I have found that I do have to re-enter the locations. While they reload when it restarts, they don't seem to work until I add them back.
Just today:
Attachment 344201
Very disappointing as this is one of the few kinds of apps I'd like to work reliably. Even though I asked the dev repeatedly if he can help further, all he could offer was a version of the app that passes the notification straight from the OS (in the hope that would determine where the problem lies). I will keep trying to make it work, do you have any other hints?
Thanks,
