List Web App URL's (HTML5) that work well on BB10
This is a thread for you to list URL's for Web apps that work well with BB10, and could replace slow or less featured apps, or help fill the app gap. I was thinking it could be like the list of known working Android Apps for 10.2.1 that Crackberry has listed elsewhere.
I'm finding that many Android apps still don't work properly or at all with 10.2.1, so I started looking at some Web sites and saved them like an app on my phone. What I found amazing was how well these worked, especially with the speed of the native BB10 browser. I was pissed when the Uber app for Android didn't work, and so went to their Website, found and used their mobile Web site, and was surprised how well it worked. Further, I found I could save the site as an app. With permissions enabled for the URL, now when I click on the "app" icon for Uber, it takes me right in, logged in and ready to go.
With any Web site that you want to save like an app, you will want to:
- go to that site in the Browser, and login (if required) and then allow the Browser to save your permissions (shows under the Browser Settings / Site Permissions section).
- then go to the Browser menu ( the '...') and choose "Add to Home Screen". The icon will appear among your app icons.
The HTML5 apps I'm currently using:
- UBER: m.uber.com
- United Airlines: mobile.united.com
- Air Canada: mobile.aircanada.com
