I notice that the above app was recently updated but there hasn't been any mention of this anywhere on Crackberry that I can see. The prior release was very buggy and basically just didn't work for many people. Anyone using this new release? Any comments? I would like to hear from someone before I purchase. Thanks.

It's not that the app is buggy, Facebook Messenger doesn't work on BlackBerry devices (except for the Priv), because the Android runtime player is still on Jellybean. Facebook Messenger has been updated to run on Lollipop.

Best way to find out is look at the comments of the app
In the past, the comments were primarily negative.
I can't say if that's changed recently. If so, give it a shot

It doesn't work for me. It just gets stuck in a loop of asking me to login to my Facebook account, telling me that worked, then not showing me any messages and asking me to login again.

version 12, it hadn't worked well in the past but when the update came along a few days ago I gave it another chance. But it has the same problem, login loop, no FB messages.

I've just deleted it and reinstalled it, first logon ok, real time chat authentication ok, Nemory FB page loads up, I hit Back then I get the attached error "can not add duplicate accounts" and I'm back at the first logon page again.

Weird issue. And first time seeing this. I think it already got your login session, but just throws error, I suggest you just ignore the error and press back until you reach the main screen

Well, the duplicate accounts error message went away eventually but the biggest problem I have now is that the app spends 95% of its time saying "Connecting..." in the orange bar at the top but rarely actually connects.

So I usually can't send messages. Happens on any WiFi or the mobile network. Common issue?

Downloaded the LTE version. It loads ok on my classic and wife's z10 but cannot send message as it hangs connecting.
