*pat on the head. Poor lil thing =/
Here's to hoping it will drop on Thursday.
Yes I am basing my estimate on a song. Lol don't judge me.
The Weeknd - Thursday - YouTube
I am so glad there are 7 days in a week now
Oh nooo what will I do in the meantime? Oh yeah sideload whatsapp or the open whatsapp project...
CB10- z10
exactly...
Do you remember SMS?
Posted via CB10
SMS is great if you are talking with people in your own country. WhatsApp, BBM, and the like are for those who don't like being charged to talk to their friends around the world.

relax. jeez they didnt say it was coming out on Tuesday.
EXACTLY!!!! It's only tuesday... just because you made this post, Everyone else will get Whatsapp tomorrow and you can wait until Saturday or Sunday (depending when your week in your world starts) All that was ever mentioned, was that Whatsapp could be coming this week... Still lots of days to go this week!!
Boring thread!! Now move along!!
I mean really tho? Here's to hoping this don't turn to a "BlackBerry broken promises thread"...

its not BB, it would be the devs of Whatsapp
Think positively. Each day this week that goes by without Whatsapp just means that it is even more likely to come the following day.
There was a 20% chance of it coming on Monday (assuming that the "next week" comment meant the work week). Today there was a 25% chance. 33% chance of it coming tomorrow if not today, 50% chance on Thursday, otherwise a 100% chance on Friday!
Disclaimer - Assuming that the app does come this week.
Most carriers offer unlimited international texting packages

haha! :rotfl:
To the OP, you can as many suggest sideloading the app if it a must have, or using openwhatsapp! Either one should suffice till the native one launches!
Not in our part of the world!!!

For us even for local sms there is charges

Lol how about one example? You do realise international means all around the world yes?
Let's see you give us one example of a carrier that allows free unlimited SMS and MMS for pics/vids etc.
Just one.
My carrier (Fido in Canada) does allow unlimited texting with international numbers on not-too-expensive plans. However it's only free if you're physically in Canada when you send the message. It does not mean you can roam in another country and SMS for free to your heart's content. And of course, it may not be free for your recipient to reply.
And from what I've heard, AT&T's contract plans in the US don't even have SMS in the base package. You either pay 20 cents per message, or add another $20 for unlimited SMS.
In other words, Whatsapp is still superior to regular SMS and since it's the most reliable cross-platform app, having it on BB10 is much welcome. I don't doubt that BBM is superior, but BBM is BB-only, just like iMessage is Apple-only.
Wind Mobile in Canada offers international unlimited texts :P

There's FB, which you can use to send files and pictures, possibly videos.

Actually it many times is BB as all apps must be submitted to app world... tested... and approved.... so it depends on that process....
It doesn't mean the recipient of your text can reply to you for free. Plus, Whatsapp can work over wi-fi, which is handy in areas like say a hotel in Death Valley where there's wifi but no cell signal for fifty miles.
FB works over Wifi and someone asked for an example of a career that does offer unlimited international texting
