That dev is notorious for spamming addresses.
I'd never trust them.

Are you the person behind the Jared Company?
I've had issues with Jared apps on OS7, but if you're the dev behind the company it would be worth it to get your point of view from people having issues on this forum as well.
I just deleted flashlight pro from the same company because it kept sending me span links to buy apps through the notifications. Where's my 100?

A long time ago I thought BlackBerry was seriously considering it because all of the questions from on of the surveys I took from the BlackBerry beta zone were about LED notifications. It asked questions like how interested are you in being able to customize the color of the notification LED and such.
This was back when I had my Tour (OS5). It looks as if they decided against brink that functionality to their devices natively.

The ability to natively change LED colours has been around for some time on OS7.1
I think you mean on the free version of the app. The paid one doesn't do that. Sorry to hear they upset you, instead of interrupting the use of the app they are put as notifications once a week or so. Most people don't mind them. Please click on this from your BB to download the paid version of the flashlight which won't bother you : http://jred.co/10UXyt7
Feel free to private message me with any issues you have about apps or any other blackberry related issues.
Really where?? because as far as when i had my 9900, my 9780 and 9000 there was absolutely no way to change the colours natively. Had to rely on bebuzz in order to get different colours onto a BB.
And before i ditched my 9900 for the z10, i had a 7.1 OS on there but i couldnt see any option to change the led colours natively in the settings.
Profile settings. From there you can change colors of the led to specific notifications. Its been around in 7.1 for some time.

I think you all misunderstand, hub ++ and bebuz are perfect, it's just what your used too. I personally like other coloured led to red and green. Blue and pink are my favourites and the disco. It's fun.

Obviously you do not have Z10. BB10 removed this option so that is why bebuzz and hub++ are being discussed.

Weird when I was running 7.1 on my 9900 I never came across this.
Same here, never seen that option on my 9900 even on 7.1. In fact looking at my 9900 just now, I don't see any option to set led colours. Mind you I haven't updated my 9900 for a good year or so, so perhaps I have an older 7.1 os that didn't have that option to change led colours natively.

That option came in the OS7.1 8xx versions, so BBRY do know how to implement it. Just hope it comes up in BB10.1 as it's so much nicer having a native option.
Ahh as i thought, I was running a 7.1 os but definitely pre 8xx version so that's why I never saw the option.
Yes would be nice if they implement natively in BlackBerry 10.

I've been using Advanced OS LED on my 9900 for some time, and one advantage I see with the apps over the 7.1 feature is customized flash times and combination colors. The native feature only gives you a color choice...nothing else.

It's not so much that they removed the option, but rather they didn't implement it for the new OS. The point is, BlackBerry has put in options to change the LED colour in the not-so-distant past, and therefore it's not so farfetched to assume that it will be brought back in some time in the future. It is still a baby OS after all.
Back on topic.
BeBuzz never worked for me no matter what I tried. Even with the latest updates.
The dev of Hub++ reached out to me personally (how awesome is that??) and I tried his app, and guess what? Works like a charm.
Do yourself a favour...get this app. The app is awesome, it WORKS, and has super customer service to boot.
Thank you for the very through review. Now I need to decide!
Please note that, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc, are no longer lumped together. Those are separate. HUB++ supports BBM as well.
Is it possible to filter and set LED colors by a domain? For example:
@gmail.com = RED
@hotmail.com = BLUE
@companyemail.com = YELLOW
etc.
I have all of my email forwarded to my GMail account, and I use the "Send mail as" feature, so that I can keep everything in one place. Setting LED by domain would allow me to distinguish the incoming email.
Thanks.
Are you trying to separate by recipient domain name or by the sender domain name?
BeBuzz will allow you to create custom contact rules and set the sender filter to for example @gmail.com to apply LED/sound/vibrate/popup settings to mails from gmail.com.
I should have clarified, receipt domain. The domains I hold email accounts at.
