1) The app is still in Beta, so they want to know that the Beta testers are clicking and breaking whatever they can.
2) This was obviously for trek fans, I know at least 6 people in my groups who are overjoyed (including me)
3) Easter eggs are always fun, regardless of how stupid they turn out to be in the end, it's about the journey, not the destination :P
