Ever since BlackBerry bumped the OS to 10.2 and beyond, I've had no success with Splashtop Remote Desktop functioning anymore.

Been bugging me for a long time because I used it quite a bit. I finally did a Google search and I found a different version of Splashtop for BlackBerry 10. Right here on CrackBerry, Bla1ze posted Splashtop 2 and a link to BlackBerry World sometime last year. The weird thing is, the link Bla1ze gives is the only way to find it. Searching BlackBerry World will not yield the result of this version of Splashtop Personal (aka Splashtop 2).

I grabbed it, and it works great!

Note: if you bought the original PlayBook version when it was dirt cheap, you are likely eligible for the Anywhere Access Pack for free, lifetime. Send your proof of purchase and they could activate this for you. I got it.

I am very happy again. Yippee!!!

Here's the link to Bla1ze's article....

Nothing happens when I click that link from Bla1ze.
"The requested item does not exist or is not available. (EC )"

Splashtop still works rather okay on my end. It had an error that stopped you from logging in on some 10.2 versions, but I (we) had already found a quick workaround for that... Well if this version was available for you, that is a good thing!

Thanks for the great tip OP! Not sure how or why I couldn't find this prior to your post.

Still having a issue connecting as it says security code is invalid. When it isn't.

    Finally got Splashtop working!!-img_20140627_123021.png

I logged in using Splashtop on my Windows computer, then removed the password on my remote system. Then it worked fine. I had the same issue too.

If you Google search for Splashtop BlackBerry, I think it's the 2nd result that can get you to the article.

See if this works to get to BlackBerry World..

I am curious, what was your workaround?

Ah, from my phone that link does work. I was trying it from my desktop before. Still on my 10.3 this version just gives a blank screen, while the other Splashtop still works (not complaining obviously, downside of running a leak).

This was the topic I referred to, when the app was force-closing when trying to enter your password.

Right you are good sir! Though I have to give my amateur hour technique credit for figuring it out before reading your post.

Talk about closing the app gap! Amirite? I was expecting something similar to Splashtop when I tried windows Remote Desktop connection through an app on my X10. But was disappointed to find out the technology is more for just general access and not an attempt at actual mirroring of the desktop performance via the thin client.

So I have to say these technologies like the Limelight gaming app for Android, Steam In-home Streaming, RemoteFX? and the like are the future and way to go.

I'm currently harnessing the power of Splashtop streamer via my X10 connected via HDMI using bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Posting on the desktop CrackBerry forums. Thanks OP and Blaz1e! This rocks and got me outta bed this morning.

Thank you very much Doctorevil! Just made my day--I have used Splashtop with my Playbook for about a year and had no idea I could download the app to my z10 until today. Followed the link given (on my z10 browser NOT your pc) and it picked up the install for Splashtop Personal (2?). Easy install and then logged in with my previous (Playbook) account password and Presto, everything works great. Not sure if I can handle the tiny screen on my z10 BUT nice to have this option! Thanks again.
