Please make a version of this browser for os7.1, and please include the ability to change user agents. I and many others on os7.1 are seeking a browser with enhanced user agent capabilities (no browsers currently compatible with os7 support user agent changes). I can guarantee if you design it, people will be willing to pay for it. I personally would pay $5 to 10 for a decent browser at this point. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do this for us. Thank you. This browser would kill all other browsers currently available for os7, even the free ones (actually I think all of them are free).

Updated to 1.0.20.1 released on Oct 25...Awesome!

    1. Night Mode still not persistent across restarts.
    2. Still not available as an Extended Search option.
    3. Yelp mobile resizing issue (UA Android) persists.

Obviously Shao has not abandoned BB10 development yet.

Which is great, because if he did abandon this, I would have lobbied for another developer to buy the rights to it and take it over, since it has become one of the apps that I consider pretty much a necessity now.

I had it uninstalled for the last month, only to reinstall it days ago for themoviespoiler.com. Glad I did!

Improper screen sizing issue also exists with Evolution set to identify as BB10:

I get this on my Z10 all the time & it's just annoying. The new update didn't fix it either.

Feature request: add save page to evernote, a feature which Origami has for the playbook and I find really useful

My biggest issue right now is no ability to "open link in new tab". Forces me to use the native browser to queue up things to read. I haven't single-threaded reading articles on web browsers (on page, click link, read page, click back button, click second link, read page, click back button, ad infinitum) for probably 7+ years now.

    ...add save page to [E]vernote...
Share the page from the overflow menu to an Evernote folder in Remember. Works with ReadItNow! as well.

It 's funny, I thought about that yesterday, but hadn't remembered to try that.
    Thanks.

Just to bump up the issue: Open link in new tab feature the way it has been done with the stock browser is the BIG MISSING feature that keeps me from using Evolution full time. I assume this is hard to implement using the current BlackBerry 10 API as opposed to accidental omission.

    +1

This is the main (only) reason I cannot use the Evolution browser as my primary browser.

I regret buying this browser honestly. As I can't open in new tab. Which is a very important feature of any usable browser now.

I'm having troubles with this app not opening the homepage from My Homepage app in Evo Browser. It opens fine in the stock browser bit for some reason it just hangs on Evo and won't open the page. Was working previously but just all of a sudden stopped.

I can't find how to set the Evolution Browser as my default browser. For instance, when I click a link in a forum post, I'd like it to open automatically in the Evolution Browser instead of the native BB10 browser. Is this possible? Many thanks for help!

Tap & hold the link then on the overflow menu, select 'Open in'. You'll see both the Browser and Evolution listed. Check off the 'Set as default app', then pick Evolution Browser.

Thank you, tryfe. I can select Evolution from "Open in" but I don't see a place to check "Set as default app". Where is that exactly?

Has the developer ever stated why he hasn't added "open in new tab" functionality yet? In my eyes, that is all that is missing from the evolution browser.

It's not there. Really. Is it possible the option to set as default was something introduced new in OS 10.2?

    Yes, that's a 10.2 feature.

My main gripes about Evolution right now are no "open in new tab" feature, and it often mangles long URLs passed to it from other apps. (e.g., if ebay sends me one of these long item links in email witha bunch of tracking junk added to the end, and I try to open that link in Evolution, it mangles or truncates the link and the page won't open. Have to open it in the native browser - which won't let me login on eBay....)
