    Howdy, folks...

    Q10 running 10.3.3.1463

    I just downloaded Skype version 6.1.0.16416 (based upon suggestions of other threads) and successfully installed it. After doing so, the app opened up just fine and allowed me to step through the fields of creating an account. When proceeding, I am immediately presented with the following message:

    Unable to connect to Skype
    You cannot be signed in at this time. Please check your mobile network settings and try again.

    My device is not on a carrier network (no Sim installed). My understanding was that Skype would function over Wi-Fi. Am I missing something here?

    I'm afraid that this app is no longer available in BlackBerry World... and while I can purchase the app, on Amazon, I can't seem to find a way to download the apk.

    UPDATE: I was able to get version 6.1.0.16416 working by creating a Microsoft Live account on my computer first... and then logging into the Skype app with those credentials. I had to go the way of a Live account, as I do not have a carrier phone number associated with the device.
