This will work for non-native apps available in BlackBerry World as well as for side-loaded apps.

Some android apps for some reason will give unnecessary alerts in the BlackBerry hub.

For example: using an android music player like "Clean Music", every time you would skip to the next song (or audio book chapter), the app would give you an alert in the BlackBerry hub.

Disable alerts for Android apps on OS 10.2+-img_00000005.png

Turning off all notification from the app in settings helps, but a new alert is still sent to the hub as shown above.

Finally with the 2.0.1047 leak OS, there is now a way to disable all alerts from non native apps.

Disclaimer: Use this appliation at your own risk. Be careful, you could do some serious harm if you don't know what you are doing.

    -open up BlackBerry World app
-search for "ghost commander" and download it, it's free
-open Ghost Commander app, it will probably default to the directory "/mnt/sdcard"
-click on the 3 vertical dots on the bottom right corner, a menu will appear
-click on "location" and choose "Home"
    -click "Applications"
-find the app that you would like to disable alerts
-long press on it and a menu will appear
    -choose "Manage"
-a new screen will appear, uncheck the "Show notifications" checkbox

    Great fix!

Surprising how many "apps" are included in the Android Runtime.... some I REALLY do not understand why they are there.

If you have the latest 10.2.1.1055, then search the internet for "ghost commander apk" and install it.
Both the Ghost Commander bar file from BB World and the APK from Android play store will work.

You can go to this thread (http://forums.crackberry.com/bb10-le...-leaks-873327/) and download the mobile1 appstore and get the APK file from there too. Click on "Attachment 220485".

    Good luck.

Pardon my ignorance here but if you turn off all the notifications, then would that also turn off app update notifications as well ie when the android app gets an update from the dev etc.

Or turning off the notifications doesnt turn off the app update notification??

Yes, you can use the one in BB World. My reply was to a person who is in Afghanistan at the moment and does not have access to BB World.

The original post was made before the 10.2.1.1055 release before anyone had a reason to really install and use the 1mobile app. If this can be done easier with that app now, then by all means.

I would use it myself now, too, but unfortunately I didn't like the permission that app asked when I was installing it. I Don't know why it wanted access to my contacts, but I declined it. Using the native Droid Store app now. Also using the Mobo Market apk, both do not ask permission to access my contacts.

So for anyone who wants a faster way, use 1mobile app like Leroy mentioned.

You can now use many different avenues to get APKs if you prefer Google play APKs vs downloading a 3rd party ANDROID store you can use this linkhttp://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/ then use BB10 Browser and search for your APK and copy the link for Google play and paste in the link provided and it will generate a download and the new autoloader on 10.2.1.1055 will do it thing. No need for any android store or 3rd party apps. Hope this is useful for some any questions add me pin:333C2727

Hi Thanks for info. i know this is old thread, but I'm looking to do something similar, but not exactly.

I have sideloaded Kik messenger, and I am trying to disable the vibrating, but I dont mind having the notifications in the Hub. I'm sure I could do this on previous OS, but I'm on 10.2.1.2102 and I can't seem to figure this out.

If I use the Ghost commander, it disables everything and then I can't see if a message comes through.

    Any help is appreciated.

Just disable the android apps that keep pestering your hub.

    For me, I disabled :

    Mega
    Pirate Bay
    tTorrent Pro

I found that these apps, especially Mega, kept glitching out my hub, by making my notifications disappear altogether
