Just received this notice this morning regarding the cbc news app. Last week they add an android app, this week they are dropping BlackBerry!? Canadian company not supporting BlackBerry, that's awful.
This is what happens when you farm out your app store to Amazon. So disappointing.
This decision came right after http://blogs.blackberry.com/2015/01/...tml5-apps-war/... he didn't directly tell developers to pull apps and tell people to post link to homepage. But it seems they agreed on that part....

Adding it in addition to BB World was OK with me as there were a lot of apps not coming to BB World any time soon. But explicitly telling devs to port over to Amazon was so terribly stupid. For the life of me I cannot understand why they would do that. Unless Amazon stipulated it as part of the 'right to use' their store.
Part of being Canadian, is having a national network like CBC. It's part of being Canadian. It's always been there. Arguably, an impartial news and programming, for Canadians. They have Canadian (multicultural) shows, news and radio, that would have absolutely NO chance on a commercial network. They supported the small, the unheard. So why in hell are they not supporting an app for a Canadian company like Blackberry? If it's purely economics, maybe it's time to dismantle CBC and eliminate Cancon? Let economics prevale!?
Why would they even send a notice about it? They should just stop developing their app and leave it as is, without providing support (I doubt they did anyway).
Sounds like they just wanted to rub it in. Surprised they didn't suggest you try their Android or iOS apps!
@OP - this much was expected. They've issued one update to their app in 2013. The app looks and works atrocious on the Passport. I wish they didn't pull support and updated instead. Since they have support of BlackBerry management to do stop supporting BlackBerry 10 natively, it was only logical they would.
