Hi my z10 has been turned off for about a month and I turned it on today and BBM has stopped working I've rebooted the phone but nothing seems to work any ideas

Are you using another phone? I have the Z10 and the Q10 and currently using my Q10 so BBM works on it but not on my Z10 because it is not on any data plan.

No this is my only phone and not working means it won't update and messages won't go through

Have you tried reinstalling BBM or my favorite (even tho we aren't supposed to need to do this) yanking the battery?

I can't delete BBM and I've already tried yanking the battery

Wipe and reload ? (which I would be loath to do myself) can you phone your carrier or go to the place you bought the phone and get them to figure it out? Sorry I'm not helping much.

Have you check to make sure you are logged in with you BB ID? When you are connected to the cellular network do you get a BlackBerry Icon next to the single indicator? Does BlackBerry portect and App World work?



But your could just try doing a security wipe. If that failed reload you OS

BBM just stopped working. No icon. I can still do video and voice chat over BBM. I have done a battery pull and a full reboot. No action. Any help would be appreciated.

Software is completely up to date; using the latest OS.

The camera app was the first app to quit working but now the diary doesn't open, pictures and compass won't open, I cannot send or open text messages and the phone can no longer identify the location if I try to check in via Facebook or Foursquare. The retailer's attitude is, basically, "what do you expect, you should have bought an iPhone"

So, how do I go about stripping the OS and reloading?

First, I don't know that this might be better posted in the general z10 forum.

With that: If you have BB Link installed, you can use that to reload the official OS. BACKUP your phone, at least, data. You might want to back up Settings but with your problems, NOT restore them???

Then use Link to reload the OS. Hope it goes well.
