All that's really needed is the bar file, no need for the extra fluff they included.

Please help. I found my Blackberry Passport, which I thought was broken!! I thought my Charger port was broken. Turns out it works with a newer micro usb cable with a longer plug! I am trying to update blackberry world and also trying to open BBM on my passport. I'm connected to wifi only it keeps saying no net work connection. so I click into network settings, then Wifi and disconnect and reconnect to my wifi. Then all I get is black screen with loading at the bottom left and a white circle animation on the bottom right on Blackberry World.

As for BBM it comes up giving me an error:
    Temporary Server Error

A temporary server error has occurred. Please Try again.

Using the Windows PC method, can I update my Z3 still on 10.2.1 or would BB10 need to be updated first?
Would also like an answer to this question, as my Z10 is still on 10.2.1.

I'd update the Z10 OS. There were a few security fixes added in since Jan 2014.

That's true; have been holding off for a couple of reasons. But the question is whether or not the BBW network fix will work for 10.2.1.

It's funny isn't it. Have you ever seen a product that a group of fans are trying so desperately to get, and the provider is trying to push them away. If they want it dead, why don't they just let it atrophy. If they want it alive, why don't they put out their feelers and show many people would be willing to pay a subscription fee for a secure non data mining ad free os. Sell me the product, don't make me the product. Or maybe they've already looked into it. I don't know

It's possible, but that's the BlackBerry World for Work package, I think you want the one below.

Download and install DBBT to your PC, plug in your device, then drag and drop the bar file into the DBBT window.

BlackBerry already has the numbers and made their decision long ago regarding future BB10 software development.

I think that was the question. BlackBerry decided to let development go, yet they bothered to fix this. It's like they can't decide on what to do.

Granted, it's just the app store, not the whole OS.

All they did was replace certificates in the app world file and that was it. Certainly nothing hard but its obvious this slipped by and was not noticed until the very last minute

I don´t want to shock you all ...

    but ...

have you tried to make a

    security wipe?

... it seems not possible any more!

I tried it just to see what is changed ...

and 2 things I could not do:

    - to deactivate the device secure (sorry, I am from Germany ... )

    - to make a complete security wipe

I hope I have done something wrong ...
    or this is only temporary

no no .. this is not my point ...

I tried it just for fun with one of the devices I don´t use anymore.

    1. I am asked as usual for the blackberry ID ...
    2. and than nothing is happen ...
    3. no going on ... no chance to start the wipe

    The fact maybe is,
that it is not possible anymore to wipe your device

maybe with sachesi .. ok ...
but not directly from the device.
