I really wish blackberry wound reconsider shutting down this service as this app has the best magazine app I've ever used. Instead of closing something that works well on BlackBerry, promote it better and more people will follow. I just don't understand.

    Anyone?

It's branded as "BlackBerry" Newsstand, but the service is actually provided by a third party, and BB has ended their contract with them for unknown reasons.

Some people really had a good use for it. Sad to see it go...

BlackBerry never stated it would no longer work.
They stated that the people would no longer be able to download the app or content for it.
Which makes it useless, unless you have accumulated many articles that have not been read yet.
The BlackBerry Newsstand service will be discontinued as of April 30, 2014, after which the application will no longer be available for download from the BlackBerry World storefront.

If you have purchased content and have not downloaded it onto your device prior to the BlackBerry Newsstand end date, we recommend that you download all content to your device prior to the end date. This will ensure that you have access to your purchased content after the service has been discontinued.

And what happens to the magazines I downloaded? How can I access them after I have deleted the app?

    Any ideas? Thanks!

You can't! Please read the post directly before yours....
The only possible remedy I can think of is to ask someone for the app file to sideload back onto the device.
And, that would only help if the device still retains the magazines after uninstalling the application, which I kinda doubt.
