This has been a long standing issue but blackberry maps does not play through bluetooth in my car. Anyone else experience this? Does OS 10.3.xx fix this? Very frustrating since it kinda defeats the purpose of the app.

Since my BT enabled car has its own gps/nav system, I have not been using BBMaps much.

I guess one possible solution (at additional cost) could be to get a bt car speaker that will pair and play the voice louder if that is what you are after. I did have one in my previous car and that did work.

When I have blue tooth enabled in my car BlackBerry maps does not play through the car kit. I have to have blue tooth off in order to hear the turn by turn voice directions. I've had other people in my car with iPhone and galaxy's and their navigation apps play through the car stereo with no issues.

Ah, so if you turn off BT (or divert to external speaker), you lose the other bt functions like calling, answering, etc.

It may help to know what kind of car radio.
Check these settings and make sure audio streaming is enabled for the car radio.

I've actually found that my Q10 works better with my car radio than my iPhone or Nexus 7

A colleague of mine uses a Z10 and is suffering the same problem which is kinda stupid since i've advised her to get a BlackBerry. Would be great to know if 10.3(.1) fixes this issue.
And it 's not a problem with the car's bluetooth audio the problem is the phone:

Mine works great, make sure your deck is in bt audio and not am or fm or cd

Ah yes I should have clarified. It does play through the stereo on blue tooth audio but will not play over the am/fm, ipod, Pandora, etc. Unless I want to drive in silence it won't play through the car stereo

Can't say for yours, but with my Sony BT head unit nothing will play over the speakers unless I'm in BT Audio mode. Tested this with my work iPhone and Nexus 7 tablet.

That describes a fun setting I found when I tried my iPhone navigation today. Worked perfectly, faded out the FM radio to give me prompts, and then faded the audio back in.
BlackBerry, please add HFP prompts to the maps app

It's not in BlackBerry maps. I just loaded up 10.3.1 and I don't see a setting for it so far.
