BlackBerry has finally listened to us and there is no longer a proliferation of the garbage apps that trick people buying it thinking it's an app that is not yet available on BlackBerry World (ie. App for Kik, App for Snapchat, etc..). You can no longer find any of those apps and they have also implemented a reorganization of apps. Now they have new categories such as 'Get Social' and 'Sports Apps'.

Yeah, I was looking at that earlier, I thought my app world was just acting funny, but they were in fact reorganizing. Good on them.

It's important with the launch of the Z3 and the 10.3 SDK dropping to have a nice clean store to accompany it.

Store probably still has to populate all servers, guys
Give it a few hours and look again

Knew they were doing something with some categories missing and such the last 2 days. Still same for me.

I still see a lot of app for whatever. One thing I would like in BlackBerry World is more customization/sorting. For example, give us the options (more options and control is what's best and how it should be) to show the top free games, which isn't available right now.

Didn't it used to be there? I'm sure that I saw it before? Really surprised it's gone..

A work around is to search 'free' within the games category but i dont think its shown in a rank order..

First of all, sure when searching you can still find a lot of crappy "app for" apps. But out of those screenshots posted here a lot of those apps are actually legit. Like the Instagram viewers or the translate apps, they are not the type of scam-apps that we were complaining about.

Of course they can not magically remove all of the bad app(le)s, the upside here is they seem to have cleaned up the "new/popular" sections so they do not show there anymore.
I'm in Canada and I can still see them.
And to the person that misses the "top paid/free" sections, they are still available after you open a specific category.

My BlackBerry World App section seems to be "broken" since yesterday. I see only the categories "Trending Apps" and "New Arrivals" - looks like they need some more time to repopulate everything.

What about the 1000 and 1000 of "Map for [small village]" Apps? Are there also now not so visible as before?

The positive so far is that there are currently the Apps "Torch Flash", "BaSA" and "ClipMan" in the trending category.

I think maybe you all have a sixth sense for those apps, if you still see that many.
I did see a few in the new arrivals section, but when I tried to open them I got a "content not available" error.

I'm in Canada, and I see the results of the cleanup. Most of the 'App for xxxxx' crap is gone, but not all. It seems like there were 2 developers cranking these out - L3KingBB and ABCsoft. Most of the former's apps are gone, except that he's already smartened up and named his most recent offering 'Info for xxxx'. As always, the first 5 star review is from MC353535.

Unfortunately, the crap from ABCsoft is still there - I'm hoping the cleanup will continue and this guy's info apps will soon be gone.

Woah that's completely on you. The flix app was developed by a developer that is on cb I think. He was upfront about what the app does and you or your kids not reading the descriptions should own up to your mistakes

Your first clue should have been realizing that your paying for an app free on the other platforms!

Well, for me, it would have been a dead giveaway since the app name is NOT Netflix!
Maybe you just have to look beyond the icon and color, and read the actual name?...
