BeWeather already does sever weather alerts via push in the background (even when it is not running). You should see weather alerts appearing in the Hub.

I sometimes get the alerts with the app closed. But it is inconsistent. Often the forecast for my area was threatened with severe storms and upon launching the app, the alert went off right then. Then another time it did it automatically. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this behavior. Ob BBOS before, it worked very reliable.

Yes. It was dependable for me on bbos. So far on bb10 I've never had an alert with the app closed. As soon as I open, I will get any alerts that are happening.

OK, is there a setting for that?
Only alerts I ever get when your app is closed is from the Weather Channel.

We are currently looking into the issue with weather alert notifications while the app is closed.

It looks like our servers are not sending out push notifications for new alerts 100% reliably.

How many months since "version 2.0" came out, and the most basic of formatting bugs still haven't been corrected. Also, when an alert for a location is over, the red flag behind the alert symbol doesn't disappear...you need to close and re-open the app to get it to go away.

Example of bug where the red flag does not disappear after an alert expires. Must close and re-open the app for it to go away. Been present since version 2.0 was released.

Seems for me that if I have location set specifically to a city, I will get alerts with the app closed. If I have location set to follow me as I travel, the app will not get push alerts if closed. Just what I noticed.

We have updated BeWeather 10 Pro. The update is available at BeWeather 10 Pro - BlackBerry World

Changes in version 2.1.42:

• Fixed radar not being smoothed
• Fixed not correctly reloading last selected layer on map open
• Decreased location list row height on Blackberry Passport
• Improved display of minutely forecast on BlackBerry Passport. Now fills full screen width

This is not possible due to limitations of BB10. The only app that can change its icon is the native calendar app. One of many things where BB10 is more limited than BBOS.

The icon is put on the wallpaper. Thus it can and is being done by other apps such as Wallpaper Changer HD.

This is a non-clickable icon representing current weather conditions.

@dev when will you finally support all features of BeWeather for other countries than US? I am thinking of Germany for example. Bellshare GmbH is a German company, isn't it?

Last noiice to the DEV and to Bellshare.

This is in response to my ticket being closed and the issue not being resolved.

I put this in the ticket at Bellshare.

I see this ticket was closed with no response of the issue being resolved. Again today the weather data says 5:34 and it is now 7:46. I am now working with several of the PWS owners that send data to WUnderground and will be asking that all PWS data be prevented from being used by your apps.

We are petitioning TWC and WU to get this done. We will stop all data sends if they do not comply.

You need to take your customers complaints to heart and act on them. Right now your app is making the owners of the weather stations look bad and this will not be put up with any longer.

Fix it or loose your data. I am sure they will dump you rather then the 100s of personal weather stations (PWS) that supply them data.

Blackberry world will also be informed .

So it is in your court.

Fix this issue or loose your data.

It defeats the purpose of this app, if the data shows wrong.
