    It's a good idea. Many people aren't even using the standard sms app to text each other now a days. Instead they're using apps like whatsapp or kik messenger to text. BBM going cross platform will let BlackBerry compete better with apps like this instead of just keeping it exclusive to BB

    Just thought about the endless possibilities: (sorry if someone already posted this):
    BBM Money $$ < This is a big one! + add NFC payment options and this will be our future credit cards!!
    BBM connected Apps (cross platform) + BBM Channels = Marketing $$$
    Hope they bring a desktop app to close the gap.

    I don't understand why people think BlackBerry will sink by expanding their market. It's a smart move, sort of like selling to straights and gays instead of just straights(no offense to anyone).
