    As we all know, BBM is going cross platform this summer. At the very least, this was likely done to enhance enterprise communications and BES10 MDM for non BB "BYOD" devices. From a consumer standpoint, there is lots to discuss. For example, over 100,000 downloads of a fake BBM app were reported for just one morning on Google's store before it was pulled. This suggests BBM may go viral when available cross platform. If that happens, who knows where this might lead? Will BBM cross platform kill Whatsapp and Instagram? Will BBM cross platform attract more migrants to Blackberry from Android and iPhone? Is BBM going cross platform a trial run for BB10 being licensed to other handset makers? How else might Blackberry monetize BBM? With QNX being so ubiquitous and at the core of BB OS10, will BBM once again become the killer app that helps BBOS10 become the dominant OS in mobile computing?

    BBM will be big once it goes cross platform. I don't see Instagram going anywhere tho.

    It doesn't need to go anywhere. $1 billion dollars and 550 million subscribers is what Instagram was bought for. That's 7.4 times the number of BlackBerry subscribers.
