Genius maps is great but the developer deserves a footnote. They have completely stopped updates for their previous app Mireo. Free map updates were promised for life but turns out they meant life of their support of the app. Mireo was expensive and so is Genius. The dev did not offer any discounts to Mireo users to switch to Genius. Ceasing support for one app then designing an updated version of it to sell to you again is a dubious practice. I hope they don't repeat this with the Genius app.

Mireo don't deserve to be in a list like this after the Don't Panic! debacle. An app where you can easily spend £50 in IAP for free lifetime updates only to be told 18 months later the app is discontinued as is the support.

The title clearly states "OR that still work". Even if WA doesn't get anymore updates, it will keep working so there's no reason not to put it on the list.

I was talking about the period b/w now and Dec 31. WA might not see any updates anymore, but until Dec 31 it'll keep working so it could be added to the list. Sorry for the confusion, this what I meant.

I'm in agreement here. Just because WhatsApp has given us a definite shutdown date doesn't mean we should omit it from this list.

If anything, it means that we *should* include it, even above other apps, as for the rest of 'em, they could very well stop working tomorrow. At least with WhatsApp we've got a firm six months left.
