I'm sure for a few this is a rather touchy subject. But, with the likes of SNAP for accessing virtually all the Google Play shop applications, or apk files that allow you to simply install an app, is this good enough for BlackBerry?

The likes of Apple refuse (unless you jailbreak) to let one install apps that are not bought via iTunes. Why? Partly because they want to maintain their reputation for a smooth running device with no hiccups in addition to controlling the deployment of good decent working apps.

So, with that all said, since BlackBerry now has an option to install apps from Google Play, side load and apk files IS THIS A GOOD THING FOR BlackBerry?

Good for temporary solution for the app gap
Bad for the future of native apps

This gives many people (and I'm pretty sure there are many who have no idea it exists, too) access to apps they have craved for a year and many other apps. So it fills the gaps. I don't know if that can be characterized as bad. Good?
