    Dear Developers,

For those of you keen enough and wanting a challenge, I would love to have a native OWA app that takes full advantage of Cascades. The company I work for apparently things ActiveSync is not secure but instead has opened up OWA to the internet. I have found a couple of ok android apps but really do miss the full experience and flow that is BB10 when using them.

    Thank you,
    Jason

LOL, how funny. I'd love to hear their reasoning for that. Technically if they want the best security I would think they would want to proxy either of them.

I'm not sure what you mean by "OWA app". You mean some sort of email client that screen-scrapes OWA? That's what the old legacy BBOS devices did.

Now that WebDAV is deprecated by Microsoft for Exchange, the new middleware API is Exchange Web Services, or EWS. As for Android apps, K9email supports WebDAV (and thus only up to Exchange 2007, I believe), MailDroid supports WebDAV and EWS, and AquaMail supports EWS. EWS has to be enabled by your mail administrator. Hopefully they don't think that's insecure too.

There is a BlackBerry World port of K9email (not particularly current), that's the only one I am aware of. I have installed the others as APKs here.

Good luck finding someone to write such a thing, I'm curious if anyone would be interested too.

Right now I am using an Android app called Mobimail from the Playstore. It works OK but is slow. I would much prefer an app built for our amazing devices.

I am not holding high hopes that anyone would take on such a project but if you don't ask, it will never happen.

You can't set it up as an activesync account from accounts setting? Just turn off ssl.

Tried that. Nothing works. Can't gain access via ActiveSync. thanks for the suggestion though.

Do you know if they enabled OMA (outlook mobile access)? Looks like the app you are using is for owa. If they don't have OMA enabled then you won't be able to set it up via activesync on the phone.

That's what I am saying. I can only access via OWA as it appears OMA is not enabled.

Here are some testing tools that may be able to shed some light. One is from Microsoft, and one is from BlackBerry.

    https://consumersupport.webapps.blac....php?page=form

    https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/

The BlackBerry tool will verify if you have your account credentials and/or server hostnames correctly specified.

The Microsoft tool will check if various types of access mechanisms are enabled and functioning, as well as check your account credentials.

Thanks for the tools. The MS tool confirms that ActiveSync is disabled. All tests past upto FolderSync where it fails and the tests end.
