    I was wondering if anyone knows of a good app that will allow me to call my family stateside via an app for free? I put comwave on my playbook but it isn't working I haven't found another good option yet for either the z10 or playbook. Does anyone have a suggestion?

    BBM voice and video don't they require the other person to have a blackberry? and the other two look to require the other person download the app. I am hoping for something along the lines where I can call other cell phones or landlines in the states.

    I guess they don't have BlackBerry phones?

    If they have iPhone, Android or BlackBerry, install

    Truphone

    and you can call them for free...

    It works...

    and calls to toll-free numbers in US and Canada are also free...

    Not yet. Maybe next week. But you can sideload it now just search for the app file

    Side loading is as easy as transferring file from your computer to your flash drive. Well 5% harder since you need a program to do this.

    Use simonics gateway for Google voice and Taki sip client on your blackberry. Works like a charm and will give you free calling to USA and Canada. If you need any help, PM me and ill share my BBM pin to help you out.

    Use spare phone if using it within Canada and USA it is free to call USA and Canada. Alas I am in neither so com wave is the better option for me.

    how is spare phone and how well does comwave work on the z10? i'm using comwave on my playbook and so far it keeps cutting out after 34 seconds
