The app now directs you to open in browser. Not sure if there was a recent update that did this. However if your Amazon app is still working and you want to keep using it don't update it. Though if still working likely won't be for long.

I have version 31.41.3000 in my Passport and it works perfectly. When I check for updates it tells me that my app is up-to-date. Rarely ever use the app but it's working well for me.

I'm not sure which Amazon App you mean. The one I have is called "Amazon" and is version 1.12.4106.10. Works fine, though I always force close it when I reboot because it users data in the background and I don't trust it.

I'm also using a Passport. The version I have is 5.31.200. I have Amazon Prime though. I wonder if that's the difference? In any event, I can't access mine at all.

The version number I posted above is according to 1mobile market. On the BB10 app manager it says 1.0.503.12.

I think I have the Amazon App from the Amazon App store, not the BB10 one. I can't delete it, or I would have long ago.

I deleted the original app and attempted to sideload every version listed here. Additionally, I tried the last working versions before it became 4.4+ only.

Every single one states this app is no longer supported on my version of Android. It then blacks out the app screen and automatically opens the web browser. Repeatedly.

LOL. I must be a medium then, as I only communicate through the dead.

It's because the app checks the runtime sees that it's old and prompts to upgrade, unfortunately there is not a BB10 version of Amazon store any longer so the redirect fails and brings you back to the app. Amazon.com via browser is an acceptable replacement as we slowly approach eoy 2019.

This also why no one should use Ubuntu Linux of any flavor. As far as the Amazon app goes, it could be similar to what happened to with my Z10's Amazon app - it started saying it needed to be updated, sends me to the web page to download the latest version, then asks to be updated again after it's installed. Started a couple years ago, I threw in the towel and just use the browser, same as I do on Android.

You can find the "Search for Amazon"-App in BlackBerry World. I use it and it works fine.

Enable the parental controls setting to uninstall and keep the Amazon apps removed for as long as parental controls is enabled. The only drawback of this method is that you can't install or update any Android apps unless you disable parental controls again.
