It was just announced that Blackberry just received the largest order of phones in the history of the company. Does anyone know who the customer was? I am betting on the US Government.

More likely it's just one of the national carriers somewhere. There's this little thing called the "sequester" which puts your theory in jeopardy. ;-)

I think it's obviously a US carrier? Who the **** else would order that many berries in one go? I don't think the US government does centralized procurement, each individual agency does it's own (Right? Can someone confirm?). Soooo I don't even think they could order that many berries all in one go.

    It's T or VZ.

People have speculated that it's a telecom company. But that doesn't really make sense. I mean, they didn't give out any other numbers before. Why now?

On the other hand, there is no way a single entity/company might purchase 1 Million BlackBerry phones, other than a reseller, so a US carrier could be possible.

I'm sure we'll hear more rumours in the days to come.

There have been two reports one saying a Venuzualian company, non-telco. One saying AT&T. Time will tell.
