Then you should be buying all you can.... sell your house, your car.
I've been thinking that this should be a fairly good quarter for BlackBerry.....
BUT, was looking at Kantar and while they showed that BlackBerry sales were up in June, July and August, which matched last Earnings Report. As most all of these Marketshare reports sites had shown an up tick in growth in the US last quarter, they seem to be doing a pretty good job of tracking sales. Well if you look at September, October and November in the US (and most other countries)... they was a major drop in sales. (Passport was a drop in the bucket it appears)
June 2%
July 1.6%
August 1.2%
These were great number compared to the previous months... but then in
Sep .6%
Oct .3%
Very few countries saw the increases that the US Market did over the summer. Have to assume that was a result of BES and EZ Pass, but it appears that growth has fallen off to even lower than levels were a year ago.
I don't expect bad news as nothing from Chen has indicated that. Just that it is possible that hardware isn't doing as well as it did last quarter and that could indicate a slow down in BES adoption also. Then again it could be a result of the demand for the Classic... like iPhone sales fall off just before the launch of the newest version.

Well I have it As my Number one Holding. I bought a bunch( a bunch for me anyway , I'm not a rich man) at $6.75 CND. When everyone was saying that it was about to go Bankrupt. It was just a gut feeling and now that the bankruptcy talk is beginning to fade my gut says it's going a lot higher.

I fight with myself all the time on this. I own a lot of shares that i made money on and want to buy another 1500 but i can't do so in good conscience because the revenue is falling. My main concern is that blackberry owns the enterprise mdm so they have tons to lose to newcomers like good and mobl overtime. I dont see a crazy game changing device coming anytime soon so their revenue in the coming years could fall more.
Blackberry's revenue model is risky because it seems very all or nothing to companies. Eg- why should i use bbm if i dont have bes? Tons of companies offer similar products. I really think they should focus on splitting out revenue streams that can be broken apart and sold separately. E-bbm is a great step forward. Id like to see more emphasis on cloud services. Would love to see some solid revenue from qnx.
In any case, i will wait a couple of months and check back. All things said, i would pay 100 a share for blackberry if they made a consistent 30 billion a year w/ 30% or higher profit margin. Right now, it is on track to be less than 4 billion for this year :( it seems like the revenue might still be on par with a -30% year over year. I think chen is the right man for the job. I hope the employees keep trying their best
