Hey just saw Blackberry is announcing 4th quarter numbers. I thought it started at 8 but nevertheless looks like they did pretty good. $.22 profit per share .
They were expected to have -$.30 a share.

1 Million BB10 phones sold but subscriber base is now at 76 Million.

Lost 3-4 million subscribers but cash stayed the same and they actually made a profit. 1 million BB10 subscribers is HUGE in the first month of availability and I am sure went a LONG way (with the ASP increase) to offset that loss of subs. Next question, do they count BB10 users as subscribers, since they do not make the service revenue off of them, and no special plan is required.

Note the terminology 1 m shipments of bb10 does not mean 1m subscribers

Great to hear this news for Blackberry! The "planned" phasing in of products and release dates were driven by the predicted Q4 results and a keen sense of marketing. Brilliant strategy! Way to go BB! Looking for more success real soon!

No, I think we will start seeing interest from HTC in the OS though to be completely honest. HTC is getting HAMMERED in Android, but they build very good phones. A licensing deal, especially with 1 million devices in the first month (not including MOST major markets) is a big win for BlackBerry, and others are going to start noticing.

also if I might add, could you just close your eyes for a moment and imagine the amazing OS blackberry 10 on one of HTCs flagship premium build quality phones. now think Timeshift UltraPixal camera I think that would be a big win.

I also think the front facing stereo speakers on the HTC One would be fantastic as it would have the amazing sound quality and volume of the playbook. heck just please make the phone black

I know just as much its pointless to argue the specs race as I explained in a previous thread that my old nexus s with a single core 1gig processor and 512mb of ram smoothly runs jellybean.

also how about one of htc's super lcd 3 displays. all the better to show off blackberry 10 my dear .....err umm lol
