Awesome lets hope they come sooner than the last day of the month :)
I'm not an RBC customer but I'm glad they finally completed development. It's a shame though as they are the largest Canadian Bank and were dead last to show up with an app.

I also really hope they include the trading portion and not just personal banking like their mobile site.
Geeezzz the biggest bank of the effing country and they are the last one to release an app for my phone!?

Yay!

haha.. no kidding. And the profit of the last quarter, just announced last week, shows that there's been no lack of monies to be spent on a little bit of development.
This is awesome. Keep them coming!

Shows you what RBC thinks of blackberry. ING Direct had their app out in Feb.
Part of the delay is due to the inclusion of NFC payments in the app. I believe this was confirmed in an earlier Twitter exchange.
RBC has always put out a top notch app for BlackBerry. I have both TD and RBC accounts, and on BBOS, the RBC app is leaps and bounds ahead of the TD "app" (launcher).
Nice to know
So does it confirm that we can pay stuff using nfc?

They knew BB10 was coming, they've just been taking their sweet time.
I was a huge RBC fan boy, but in recent years, my support has waned. Not impressed.

Excellent! Been waiting for this, even though I don't need to do that much mobile banking. Mostly it'll be nice to be able to check my balance.
As for the NFC payment feature, I don't expect that I will ever use that. I prefer to use CASH when I buy stuff. Dealing with plastic and NFC doesn't feel like I am spending money, so it is more likely I'll spend more of it.
Q10 and Canadian all the way!
Thank Gawd. Finally.
Yeah hurry up RBC...what do people do on their banking apps anyway?
I don't miss it much

Uh... banking?! Stuff they'd otherwise have to do on their computer.
Q10 and Canadian all the way!
The only useful thing I can think of is depositing a chq by taking a pic of it, but as far as I know RBC doesn't do this.
Other banking stuff I do on my computer.

Not many people actually receive a physical cheque any more, and your point of only banking on your computer is the whole point. :s

Damn I guess I don't do much banking

In the United States, it is still quite common to pay for stuff at at store (ie groceries) with a personal cheque, but here in Canada they are nearly obsolete, EXCEPT for the weekly paycheque. That's the only time I've ever actually used cheques.

Stores there will actually accept a cheque for payment? Seriously? Wow. I thought they were the trend setters, the market leaders, the ones to follow....
Well, many stores will not (in particular, chain stores like McD's, WalMart), and they usually have a sign posted saying this. When my mum came from the states 20 or so years ago to Canada, she'd pay for purchases as small as a pack of gum with a cheque. Even then, NOBODY did that in Canada, and this was 20 years ago.
In concern to banking, the States is back in the 90's compared to Europe or Canada (and even Canada is not at the point Europe is at).

RBC has a mobile site? All I can get on my BlackBerry is the desktop site... it's probably a teeny-tiny link on the bottom of the website.

Something I found interesting is that RBC's BlackBerry Mobile Banking Application appears in BlackBerry World ... but it appears to be for BBOS and says "Unavailable for this device". You can't find it by searching BlackBerry World, but I clicked on the link called BlackBerry at rbcroyalbank.com/mobile/mobile and it opened BB World.
