After digging through a number of quarterly reports, I thought it would be interesting to see the quarter by quarter revenue for US and Canada (plotted here).

When you break it down country by country, you see clearly that the growth in the US is coming one quarter after Canada, consistent with the delayed launch. (Note: I don't understand the jump in Canadian revenue back in 12Q2.)

yep i agree the uptick does coincide with the staggered launch. Hopefully it continues next quarter too!

Thanks for sharing. Would it be possible to extend it to 2011 for better picture. Also is this all revenue (handsets & services)?

Thanks. Did they split out the U.S. sales somewhere, or did you estimate it somehow?
Maybe the 12Q2 bump is 'back to school' sales

They do split out US and Canada sales in the financial filings.

Yes, this is total revenue. The quarterly reports didn't break it down any further.

Whether or not I can go back further in time depends on whether the quarterly reports continue to break revenue down by region (I haven't checked). Assuming this is the case, it should be possible to go back some more, but I'm super busy right now and I don't have the time. I'll try to get to it though.

I agree about the back to school idea. Strange how it didn't manifest in the US. If that's the case it could bode well for Canadian revenues next quarter. Also I expect US revenues will follow the Canadian track and should grow nicely next quarter. (All my opinion, of course.)

Great post. This is further proof that bb10 is doing extremely well in Canada and seems flat it in USA. Overall North American revenue was up 30%. I have a feeling q2 revenues and q3 will be better.

Here you go. Going back further in time. (Note, I labelled the fiscal year incorrectly in the previous plot. Fixed now.)

This past quarter was the first of growth in a long time in the US. And Canada hasn't seen two sequential quarters of revenue growth for a while either, until now.
