Does it mean BB has a total assert of 13 billion without pattern portfolio? If that is case, its market cap is highly undervalue. I guess I need to sell my house and husband to buy BB shares.

I believe the patent portfolio would fall into the intangible assets category.

Yes patents are included in intangibles. Imo, in a bidding war they can get double for the patents.

Yes bbry stock is about 30% below book value.

Imagine putting a $20 bill in an envelope and people are trading it at $13. Worse, they are shorting it at $13 looool.

I'm all in almost 6 figures and I'm sleeping very well.

    I'm sure Watsa is too.

Analysts are using conservative numbers towards account receivable and inventory cause the value might not be realized due to conditions of write down and bankruptcy. It's also hard to value patent. Most of time buy side analysts would ignore this number to be conservative.

Discount, maybe. Ignore? It seems very unlikely to me that any credible analyst would write off the entire value of RIM's patent portfolio.

Some analysts wrote off the Noc. They said it was worthless!

The most important thing to remember is that these are BOOK values for the assets. Market values maybe quite different.
