I was today in a Hi mobile store in the Netherlands and asking for the BlackBery Classic and the guy told me they don't have in stock, because it sold so bad. He told me there where only 8000 Passport and Classic solds worldwide etc. So I told him i rethink it over and don't gone order it but I will order it online

I wish BlackBerry could give the right number but there is no answer from Blackberry because it's al over the news here in the Netherlands . It;s bad business for BlackBerry.

Phone Arena's article seems to make more sense than the original article posted in the thread. Much more believable, as it makes the it more clear what period the 8000 supposedly covers (though it doesn't reference a global or regional area for the supposed 8000 number).
See my post# 60. The 8,000 was a channel check on the ATT Passport/Classic and Verizon-Classic launch in the US which by every account is a disaster. Would've probably sold just as much by putting all the units on each respective carrier websites instead of the spotty distribution in corporate stores.

    lol, those noobs

in last quarter BBRY sold more than 12000 classics in INDIA alone. + more than 8000 passports.
india - is not the biggest BBRY market by all means.

worst thing is, that at the moment is BBRY quiet period (before earnings results) and BBRY cannot confirm or deny. that's the exact time to push some rubbish articles from the "analysts", thus pushing SP down. lol

however, it's wonderful time to by some shares.

I think we need some clarification. The article I posted says "8,000 this quarter", albeit from a source I am completely unfamiliar with. I think 8,000 in the current quarter is possible. However 8,000 total since release date, I would say near impossible.

Why BlackBerry let this article from Wall Street analysis miss lead consumer without saying anything to defend itself? This is similar story when they first release Z10. I know Z10 don't sale as much as it suppose to be but not the 8000. It absurd and shame with this Wall Street crook. When Chen was interview in Barcelona Spain, he said Passport and Classic selling very good so far, asked by interviewer. If Chen mean very good is the 8000 sold, he need not being CEO anymore.
they cannot comments due to quiet period before earnings call.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't go past the first page because login is required, but it shows from Nov. 3rd until March 7th, 5,341 Passports imported. This doesn't say how many were sold. However, I would be surprised if only 8,000 were sold worldwide this quarter.

And this is the kind of nonsense reporting and BS that continues about bb. I bought the z10 three years ago and have had no problems with it what so ever. People out there beleive this crap instead of seeing or trying something for them selves. When i first went to get the z10 the sales person tried everything not to sell me the z10 because they heard everyone was returning them which was bs. She went on telling me that no one has ever returned apple iphone to them. My answer to her was go stand in the apple store for awhile and you will see people in there returning there phones for new ones or getting them fixed. my nephew just bought the iphone6 and he cant beleive the problems he is having with it. So it is really to bad that people cant be honest about something iphone sells alot not because its better than bb its because of apps and only apps.

For a Global company, 8,000 units vs. 800 is pretty much in the same ballpark

I don't know how many Passport and Classic devices have been sold, but I know for sure that I have never seen one outside of a store. And the stores that carry BlackBerry phones usually have just a few in stock. I had a brief conversation with a guy from The Mobile Shop in Toronto area. He told me they sell about 1 BlackBerry device a week.

How long did it take Amazon to sell the 26,000 Fire Phones through AT&T? At any rate, the 8,000 number, even if it's just AT&T and Verizon in the USA, is very scary to me. I hope the official earnings report has some better news.

Sounds to me MS is trying hard to help the SHORTS cover as much as possible before they get Squeezed dry. Claiming 8,000 devices sold is Ridiculous and shows there's an agenda at play here. Personally I can see device sales for this Quarter slightly higher than the previous.

It's safe to say absolute Minimum Passport Sales should be 200,000. And the Classic tripling that number to 600,000+. That makes about 800,000 not including the remaining Q5, Q10, Z10, Z30, Z3 etc., 8,000? That's just BS.

i would think they have a misprint. Remember they sold the 200k passports earlier

    PS where is the link?
Just got off the phone with my sources, take it as you may, BlackBerry did indeed sell a mix of Passports and Classics equaling about 8,000. But that is within a week's period or slightly less. And only in the USA, by 2 Carriers. Not sure why Morgan Stanley would post such a thing, with claims of a complete Quarter total sales?

Take this with a grain of salt if you may, Passports WW = 500,000. Classic's N/A atm.

Man I hope the slider is a well built phone and that it reaches market before Chen cashes in the chips. BlackBerry been on the verge of death to where it being sold or closed wouldn't have surprised me. But now they're dangling my dream phone in front of my eyes.

Please sell enough to stay in business BlackBerry!

Using Z10 since BlackBerry broke my Z30.
