I keep reading this type of stuff. Can anyone shed any light?

I was reading the other day a Chinese form (may be Lenovo) seeking to purchase blackberry and how the US will be up in arms if this happens due to all the security issues. (Ie google and china).

    Thoughts?

If I remember correctly, Lenovo said some time ago that they are interested to make a deal with BlackBerry or to maybe even buy it if they have the chance. I would say the deal (Maybe licensing the BB10 OS) would seem more realistic. Lenovo doesn't have that much cash that they could easily buy BlackBerry

Licencing BB10 to Lenovo only for handsets sold in China, would actually be a good deal.

Don't forget that the Canadian Gov't stated that they won't allow it. Sorry, don't have the article, but I read it on Yahoo finance. Try searching Yahoo for seeking alpha + Lenovo+ BlackBerry +canadian gov't.

I agree that Lenovo could not afford BlackBerry, and this is getting more apparent as time goes on. I wonder though, who will be the first to step up and license the BB10?
I'll go out on a limb and say.... Nokia, or Sony.

Agree about the Cdn government intervention. Nobody will buy BlackBerry for that reason. However, I'm sure Lenovo could buy BlackBerry. At $10 billion it would be a steal. Nokia is exclusive to Windows Phone for some time yet. I believe they're in year 3 of their 5 year agreement.
