TH is probably the most uninspiring CEO that has had media exposure. Could be his northern European accent... could be his calmness...
He may be doing a good job internally but please keep him off the media...

WHY?????!
Is there ANYTHING cool about Thorsten Heins? I mean the BB10 launch event he "hosted" was hard (as a fan of BB it was in fact painful) to watch!
While the Z10 is a HUGE jump forward for BlackBerry users - especially those on a business network.... for most average Android and iPhone users there isn't anything revolutionary about the new BB10 devices.
Who decided to release a mid grade device at launch?
Who decided to only release one device at launch?
Who decided to price that one device like it was a premium device at launch?
Who allowed carriers to walk all over them and control the launch dates and software updates?
Who didn't have all those big name apps he promised a year ago that he would have at launch?
Granted some problems with the Launch were not his fault...
BB10 minimum hardware requirements are too high - so we are going to still see new BB7 devices and no PlayBook update.
No BIS on BB10.
US launch software had problems with reboots and battery life that affect many users first impression of the "new" BlackBerry.
Regardless I really doubt that Thorsten Heins is going to be the guy in the CEO chair much longer. BB10 launch failed on too many points, and the timetable for a turnaround is really too small to allow him to stay in the chair.
When Apple was shopping for a new OS and they chose NeXT, Apple was forced to take Jobs too as part of the deal. Apple then made him interim CEO. During his "trial period", he cut a deal with Microsoft, he trimmed the Mac line and he focused on consumer products admitting that Microsoft won the enterprise. The iPod changed everything as this MP3 player and iTunes (along with NeXT/OSX) became the foundation for iOS.
Heins, on the other hand, is a product of the old regime and still has the same goals (focus) as the founders. He still sees BlackBerry as a mobile device maker that can't do anything more than make a handset. His "vision" consisted only of introducing another "me too" operating system and killed their only non handheld device.
Heins has absolutely no clue as to what a "disruptive" product is.
LMAO, stop drinking the BlackBerry Kool-Aid. Thorstein Heins has no clue. He drove Siemen's handset business into the ground. Jim and Mike looked at RIM management and chose him due to brain drain of talent at the firm. So now Heins will drive BlackBerry into the ground due to sporadic BB10 launch. He should have launched all BB10 devices in all markets at the same time just like Samsung did with S3 and S4. Heins thought he had the luxury of time. So Hiens you're fired!

Jobs took LSD and I bet dollars to donuts Heins hasn't even come close.

There are hundreds of threads like this but the koolaid is gone now.
Assuming you meant inventor, hindered nothing. He integrated existing technologies into a new package.

Nuclear Plants!!! Automotive Integration!!! Tablets are dead!!! Rinse and repeat.
Obviously, yes, the turn around is still on. The stock market creates a world of their own, regardless BB keeps on chipping away at the competition one BB10 at a time.....
They're going to be calling him "Steve Jobless" pretty soon.
You forgot mobile computing.
