Is it worth owning 300 shares of BB at any price looking for a double increase ? If you cant buy 500 or a thousand shares, my question is this. When is it not worth owning a non dividend stock ? Even if it has great potential, locking up money and paying income taxs on it could turn into a lose of money.

If someone buys 100 shares at 10 bucks. Price goes up to 20 bucks and so you have a profit of 1000 bucks but after taxs and the wait is this worth it on BBRY. BBRY is a non Dividend stock so this is different if the money was put into one like apple or google right ? I know more about Futures that the stock world.

And to track all your Shares for BBRY in a Portfolio with Gain/Loss per day, use "StockDaddy Turbo".
There's a free version of it, "StockDaddy Free".
    Try before you buy

I purchased that and use it. Like intergration with stocktwits too. I actually buy and try alot of apps in BB World. Might try them and dump them if they dont work in. Personally I dont mind paying a few bucks to try something that might be fun or increase productivity.

As much as you can afford to lose. Plain and simple, and that goes for ANY Stock.

Probably the best way to answer this question is "When do you want to spend the money?" If you are looking to fund you Summer vacation with profits then I wouldn't be buying shares. If you believe in BBRY that much then you should be buying options or some other kind of derivative bet.

If you are saving for retirement then buying shares of stock is a reasonable strategy.

I'd say if you are playing around with money you will likely use in the next 18 months then it's probably not worth buying stock. Uncle Sam charges you ordinary income tax rates on those gains. For some of us, it's 39%.

Don't use money you might need in the next five years in the stock market.

Also don't buy stock unless the brokerage fee for the purchase is less than 1% of the cost of purchase.

Don't look to tech stocks for dividend gains. I'd you want want stable income buy canadian banks or reits or insurance companies.

If you are more aggressive and want a 2-bagger, then gamble with a tech stock.
