I know that this was raised yesterday elsewhere, but there's a little bit in here that I hadn't heard about previously, and it's... interesting, to say the least.

Research In Motion Ltd (BBRY) Gets Thumbs Up From Goldman At MWC
(BTW, I hate linking to valuewalk - any 'investing news' site that slathers every article with tits and azz isn't worth being called an investment news site -but I couldn't find this additional tidbit elsewhere).

BlackBerry is also actively training 60k retail reps and creating 25k points of presence throughout the US market ahead of the launch.
    Thoughts on what this means?

This means that Z10 demand is exceeding production capabilities!

Why not much marketing? Simple - Sales are already exceeding production. Why create more demand before production is able to keep up?

This is all good news. Except that more production is needed. Demand is substantially exceeding supply.

    Go Blackberry!

It looks like this is specifically in prep for a (very large?) marketing effort in the US. I'm just not clear on what they mean by creating points of presence. Perhaps retail displays, etc?

With a population of 313M, 25K points of presences implies one POP for each 12500 people. I live in a small town in Ontario with nominally 15-20K people, and we have at least 6 places where you can buy a Z10, so I don't think that's a wildly wrong number if it means actual places where you can buy the phone. That's a lot of shops to handle... no wonder it didn't all happen in January. ;-)

Not a bad idea. Could be the number of locations that will be selling the Z10. If each sells 5 on the first day, that's a quick 125K in sales.
