Hope BlackBerry flirts well with her.

I bet this one will not find its way on BGR. BlackBerry should market the hell out of things like this if accurate.

That's pretty interesting. If they can provide that kind of security thru the microSD card slot that's great for governments etc.

If they can do well enough there and also provide the phones to conprosumers at a competitive price and specs they could very well be around for awhile yet and do quite well.

A good headline for BB, but per usual the guy from Greece is spinning things his way. From the actual article the he quoted, and I bet most people don't click through:

The software is not iPhone-compatible, so Apple products will start disappearing from the German parliament.

So, while true that iPhone will not be used, it isn't quite for the nefarious reasons that George uses.

Edit to add the link to the deeper story: German politicians to get encrypted phones - The Local

    Also Edit a typo.

Governments and corporations would be foolish not to use Blackberries but for everyone else it doesn't make a difference.

Any negative story no matter how irrelevant would be posted. You will not see hide nor hair of this on the likes of BGR, verge, ..etc.

Hoping some mainstream news runs with it...although I wouldn't hold my breath

The story is from Seeking Alpha so it should be classified as a rumor. Websites posting information without credible sources lack journalistic integrity.

I read the whole thing, it's still interesting. I wonder if iPhone can't because it has no slot or it's more than that?

A funny line, but whoever built the software is most likely the issue.

someone from CrackBerry should contact the company who writes the software and ask them why they are not making it for iPhones.
Is it because of a technical reason or just because it hasn't gotten around to it or doesn't want to?

Perhaps you want to change the title..they won't drop the iphone because it is unreliable but because BSI is not compatible. If you speak about reliability Blackberry are absolutely the worst...

Largely that I imagine but seems Secusmart, judging from a quick browse of its website, also focuses pretty well exclusively on BB. Nokia is a partner but I didn't see any info on Nokia phone support. The company may also not want to expand. Hard to say for sure.

Just because iPhones don't support expandable memory / SD Cards.

The title's just fine. The iPhone cannot be relied upon for fulfilling this security need. BSI is a government entity, btw. Bundesamt fr Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik.

Very significant development in the political arena resulting in a small sales boost for BB, but more importantly, can lead to a more positive public image for BlackBerry. Now if only there were proper marketing people left at BB.....
