I don't see a demand for a Facebook device. And will corporations want adds served up with their corporate mail?

Isn't a more trueful headline "Blackberry execs travel to facebook and ask them to buy the company - no sign facebook to make bid".
.....and what fact authorized you to make this statement?

I think people are over reacting and just assuming what Facebook would do if they owned blackberry, in all honesty we have no idea! Maybe they want to get into hardware and use bb10 and have their marketing power behind it, or maybe they just want bbm, or maybe they want bb10 and no hardware. Who knows, but to dismiss it just because it's Facebook is silly

I don't think executives would meet over Instagram.
I'm sure Marty Mallick and Alec Saunders might. ;-) Be a big deal to get that app on BlackBerry

You're right. I could see FB buying pieces of BlackBerry but they can't afford the whole company.

The fact that I can read? Note I am not claiming special insider I am commenting on the relationship between the headline and the content of the cited article -the article itself could be completely wrong but that is irreverent to the point I was making.

FB probably learned their lesson with that. They're not gonna try it again.

    . . and BlackFace wouldn't be well-received either . . .
No, and every year someone try it at least once at Halloween, and every times it's never funny!

On topic, if Facebook get blackberry, then it will be my last BlackBerry.

Android and iPhone fan better thank BlackBerry for making their phone better. I prefer subscribers, not followers.

BlackBerry Execs went to Facebook as the meeting was in California. Also, BlackBerry appointed an investment bank to find buyers and also issued a notice its up for sale to interested parties. This recent Facebook meeting is therefore not any different - BlackBerry is approaching potential buyers more than interested parties are approaching them.

Calm down, everyone. They are just looking at some strategic options. Flying across the border out to California to the Facebook offices just to look at strategic options. Maybe they were really on their way to Disneyland and stopped over while they were on the way.

there is potential for a purchase. and that is still enough to be concerned. If the news was that facebook was buying it my z10 would be in the garbage ASAP ! face book is a bad choice for Blackberry.

Just a thought - maybe BlackBerry Execs should've approached LinkedIn instead. They have 284 million prosumer base
