I would ask the reps here in El Paso but the last time I asked them for my Bold 9930 they told me that Blackberry had closed down and was no longer in business. I had to make them go in the back and double check for me. Yep, there were many back there.
lmao. Don't worry all the phone reps would say the same thing and even worse a cpl months back here in Canada. It's hard to wipe the smug grin off my face when they now say the z10 is surprisingly selling really well.

Funny story. I signed up for a new gym membership and the chick asked me if I have an iphone so I could put their app on it. I said no I have a blackberry. She was like oh wow you need to upgrade you're living in the past. I laughed and pulled out my z10 and she was like "what?! that's a blackberry?" Gave her a quick demo and her mind was blown.

The sentiment is definitely changing. I'm glad blackberry released the touch screen first bc it provides that "shock" factor when you pull it out.

Wish MS had not killed the Gadgets. There are many when you search but they all want you to download "other" software to get what you want. I make me wary.
I would just stick with google and use google chrome. I'm a software dev for a SaaS so I stay in my browser literally all day. The numbers are about as live as they get aside from the volume but I can check that through scottrade realtime. If you find a gadget for win7 I wouldn't trust it mainly because you don't know how and who wrote it. When I talk about trust, I'm referring to bugs and not reporting the right prices from the feed for whatever reason.
Google has it on lock though imo.

Ok. As much as I respect your opinion SF, I gotta disagree with you a little on this one. I don't think Piers Morgan has the ear of too many teens and tweens. His target audience is a wee bit older. And, if a teenager was watching that he/she would hear PM calling it cool, give a laugh, and say "how do you know what is cool - old man" and immediately decide NOT to buy because an old guy thinks its cool. So having TH on PM was great for exposure - but does nothing for the "cool" factor IMHO.
Oh, sry (Moooooh again !), I didn't mean "this is going to make a nice buzz", but only "spontaneous association between 'cool' and 'BlackBerry' is new and very encouraging for the brand perception"
... whomever the words come from and/or go to (and anyway, "kids" don't watch this program, isn't it ?)

    Edit :
And you, $BBRY sweetheart, please stand wisely under +5%, please ... shhhh ... silent climb ...

Byron Capital Markets downgraded BlackBerry (NASDAQ: BBRY) from Buy to Hold with a price target of $18 Thursday. Analyst Tom Astel said he thinks the company is still a turnaround story, but would prefer to buy to stock on dips rather than maintain a long position. He also said at over $16 the stock was pricing his best "guess" for 2014 earnings, at $1.60 per share. On a more cautious tone, the analyst warned about February unit sales.

"On a more short-term basis, we are also concerned that unit sales in the February quarter to be reported at the end of this month will not be that exciting, given the staged launch and some data points from the Jabil (NYSE: JBL) results on Wednesday. We had modelled 1 million BB10 units for that quarter, but we expect something less than that now. We are more hopeful for margins as we think initial sales of the Z10 have carried strong ASPs," said the analyst in the downgrade report.

This won't get the coverage that the original FALSE story did. Same as the Guardian FALSE story on Z10 failing UK security.

And who says there is no manipulation going on?

Calm yourselves, defense bureaucrats. The Pentagon isn’t about to swap out your BlackBerries for the latest iPhones and iPads.

That, however, was the promise of anonymous “well-placed sources” in an eye-opening Electronista story Wednesday. Those sources said that the Pentagon was on the verge of phasing out “nearly all” of the hundreds of thousands of BlackBerries issued to its employees, and replacing them with some 650,000 iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches.

There is no truth to this claim,” says Air Force Lt. Col. Damien Pickart, a spokesman for the Pentagon’s new mobility initiative. “We are not looking to replace those 470,000 BlackBerries with the systems they claim we’re looking to order.” . . . . . .

. . . . . “Every couple weeks, there’s another report that we’re abandoning BlackBerries, and that is just so far from the truth,” Pickart adds. Someone still loves you, company-formerly-known-as-RIM.

Yea, probably not the greatest idea to be emotional with this stock seeing how the media is constantly trying to push it every direction except up.

If I was writing this it would look like this:
Shares of BlackBerry closed at $16.00 yesterday, with a 52 week range of $6.22-$18.32.
Please help me understand where their numbers are coming from.
I wouldn't want to mislead someone with my statement if it is infact incorrect.

Had something similar happen with a manager at Home depot that was still using a BB. SHe saw my Z10 and I gave her a quick demo and she called a few others over. In a matter of 2 minutes I had 6 people talking about how they want that phone right now. Amazing!!!

Confirmed, when logging in directly via the WebBroker login page.

Going in via EasyWeb still fails... but switching between the systems once logged in, it actually works! (Edit: except although the account summary view works, many other things fail including looking at an individual account.)

Also they have this notice up:

    Urgent: WebBroker Technical Issues

Please note that we are currently experiencing technical issues affecting one or more features in WebBroker. TD Direct Investing is working to restore full service as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Defense spokesman says DoD not dumping BlackBerry - Computerworld

A U.S. Department of Defense spokesman on Thursday said a report suggesting the defense agency is dumping BlackBerry devices was inaccurate, and that BlackBerry is still part of ongoing DoD mobile device deployment plans.

I just bought my first few shares today! I wish I had been able to buy earlier but other commitments kept me from doing so until now... so I missed out on shares for $6.00. Now I hope that $16 is decent, and we see some more upward swing. I'm in for the long haul though so I'm pretty excited not just for the coming weeks (I'm buying more shares) but for the future days of true mobile computing.
